Chapter 229: Curiosity
[: 3rd POV :]
Once Daniel had passed Sasha's phone back to her, Sasha looked at the contact.
"D-Daniel...?" She muttered as she read his name.
"Yeah, and by the way, what's your name?"
Daniel asked despite knowing her name.
"My name is...Sasha" She answered nervously.
"That's a nice name" Daniel complimented with a smile.
"Thanks..." Sasha replied and her eyes were fixated on the ground, and she was for some reason blushing.
"Then, I'll get going now"
Daniel said and he turned around and walked away.
As she watched Daniel's back disappear in the distance, Sasha couldn't help but feel a sense of loss.
She even tried to reach out to him as though, she didn't want him to leave.
While his actions had saved her from the nightmare she was living, his departure left her with a strange feeling.
Even though the crowd was watching both of them and recording each of their movements, both of them were unbothered.
Moreover, Sasha's thoughts were plagued with questions and emotions.
She had never encountered someone who would risk their life for her before, and the thought of someone standing up for her was both foreign and confusing.
Yet, it filled her with emotions that she had never experienced before, and she liked it or even loved it.
Moreover, the way he had effortlessly frozen the ranker, which was a feat that she had never seen before.
For her, a ranker was someone unfathomable and untouchable.
However, she never imagined that a man who appeared out of nowhere had saved her.
It added a sense of curiosity and she wondered what kind of person Daniel was, and why he had done all of this.
But most importantly, she was grateful that he had come when she needed him the most.
From the very beginning he had appeared, Sasha couldn't help but feel drawn to Daniel's energy and kindness.
Perhaps, there was more to their encounter than she had initially thought.
However, one thing was for sure.
She wouldn't let him get away that easily.
As Sasha watched him fade into the distance, she knew she had to find a way to repay him for his kindness.
"I'm not going to give up, I will repay him one way or another no matter..."
She made her decision as she gazed at Daniel's departure.
Eventually, once he was no longer within her sight, she continued working with the thought of Daniel on her mind.
At the same time, the crowds began uploading the videos on the Internet and they didn't dare to disturb or pester Sasha for questions.
Even Deviations, Guilds and Police had arrived on the scene for investigations.
Meanwhile, Daniel was smiling brightly while his heart was beating faster than normal.
He finally showed his presence towards Sasha and he had eliminated one of his greatest regrets, and now, Sasha was saved from her threat.
Her family would still be alive and she would no longer be tormented by him.
Even though there was still more work to do on their relationship, he was satisfied with this.
However, the next day, the news was filled with the news about Daniel, who was titled as a Murderer.
But soon, news and even the rumours of him died over the course of the next few days due to the Unison Government and Leila's intervention.
A few days later, inside Cecilia's house, Daniel could be seen lying on her lap on the sofa as she fed him some grapes.
The TV was currently airing the news and Daniel could see his picture and a title was placed below it.
'Killed?'
It was an interesting article, and Daniel couldn't help but snort when he saw it.
'The government really worked hard' Daniel thought with a smirk.
The government and his Mother, Leila were the only ones who could cover up his involvement and they had succeeded.
Cecilia was watching the news while feeding Daniel some grapes.
She didn't like the fact that Daniel was so close to another woman.
Moreover, the news was constantly airing about a ranker who was killed.
But Cecilia knew the true story behind it.
It made her furious and she didn't like how he had helped the woman.
"Looks like someone has made a new friend" Cecilia pouted.
Daniel was lying on her lap and he looked at her, who was smiling brightly.
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh, I'm talking about your new friend, Sasha. You seem to be close with her" Cecilia said, trying to hide her jealousy.
Daniel was confused by her comment and he looked at the news, and there, he saw Sasha's face on the screen.
"So, it was her?" Daniel smiled.
"Oh come on, don't tell me you're jealous just because I made another new female friend?" Daniel smirked.
Cecilia pouted, "Well, it's not like I'm not jealous, and it's not like I can stop you" She said.
Daniel smiled and he held Cecilia's hand, who was about to feed him a grape.
"If you're jealous, I'll tell you this," Daniel said.
"Yes...?" Cecilia's ears perked up and she leaned in.
"No matter how many more women in my life I have, you're precious to me" He declared.
Cecilia, whose heart was about to leap out, blushed and her mouth was wide open.
"O-Oh..is that so..." Cecilia replied and she turned her head in the other direction, and her face was red.
In her heart, Cecilia knew that even if Daniel wanted another woman, she couldn't stop him.
In fact, she was expecting for Daniel to be someone who would constantly fuck women.
Yet, she was surprised he didn't.
It would be a lie if she declared she wasn't jealous.
However, she would rather Daniel have more women than him get bored of her or even leave her.
On the other hand, Daniel smirked and he took the opportunity and ate the 'grape' on her breast.
"You're not getting away this time!"
"Ow, you bit my nipple," Cecilia said while pouting.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist the 'real grape'" Daniel said and he smiled.
"You're evil, you know that?" Cecilia chuckled and she continued to feed Daniel.
"Haha"
The both of them had their fun together while watching the news.
"Come to think of it, there's something that I want to give to you"
Only then did Daniel remember he had something to give to her.
"What is it?" She curiously asked.
Daniel got up from her lap, and he took out all of the treasures that he had prepared for her to take.
Eventually, he took out, 20 Mythic Skill Books, 1 Blessing Ticket, 1 Bloodline Ticket, 9 Unique Class Selection Books and 5 Ultimate Skill, and gave them to her.
At first, she was confused by the sudden items that had appeared on the sofa, and Daniel took the time to explain.
Eventually, half an hour later, her eyes were wide open.
"Incredible...so all of this is for me...?" She questioned and there was affection in her eyes.
"Yeah, these are all of you and I know that you managed to pass all of the Stages in Trials of Transcendent" Daniel said.
"So, these are my gifts for you" He declared.
She smiled and clearly, she felt even more in love with him.
"Thank you so much dear for the gifts, and I'll make sure I'll repay it fully"
She teased as she whispered in his ears.
"Then, I'll be waiting for it" Daniel smirked and afterwards, she kissed him on the lips.
"So honey, what's your plan now?" She questioned after they had separated their lips.
"My plan now is to laze around" Daniel lay down back on her lap with a wide smile.
"Laze around? That's unlike you" She chuckled as she began caressing his hair down to his cheeks.
"Sometimes, I wonder why are you working so hard..." All of a sudden, she questioned.
The moment Daniel heard her words, he closed his eyes.
He remained silent as he didn't want her to know.
"Well, it's not like you'd answer immediately" She shrugged her shoulders off as she continued caressing his cheeks.
"But no matter what, I will always be on your side" She declared with a smile.
Daniel never thought that she would say the same words that were said in the alternate future.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the city, Sasha could be seen sitting in a cafe while drinking her favourite cup of latte.
She was reading the news on her phone and her face had a frown.
It had been a few days since the incident had happened.
However, her mind was plagued with thoughts and emotions.
After a few days, the rumours about Daniel had been swept under the rug and it had faded away.
However, this made her more curious and she wanted to know who he was.
She never thought the news would die so fast, hence, it made her even more curious about his identity.
