The third godly item—the Scorching Candle.

That godly item had an appearance per its namesake. It looked like a dark golden chamberstick with a candle on it. However, the candle was of extremely high temperatures. Even if there was the godly item itself giving a measure of energy control, it was still a scorching hot piece to pick up.

The Scorching Candle had two parts. The candle-like construct was actually a materialization of fire element energy, which could be separated to conjure any fire elemental magic.

It was a piece of godly item that was even more powerful than the Well of Stars. However, Saleen was not versed in fire magic. He was very proficient in water magic. As such, that piece became the third piece he worked on.

That dark golden chamberstick was fused into the center of his magic amplifier, which was behind him. It tangled with the Thunder Dragon Blaster and was gradually separated to prevent the piece from being assimilated.

Saleen had no intention of testing out the power of that fire elemental godly item. Unlike the Well of Stars, which had protective abilities, if he cast level 18 fire elemental magic spells with the godly item and lost control, he would have wiped out all the camps around him.

While level 18 fire elemental magic was far from being able to bring the sky down and scorch the earth, it was still very capable of burning areas hundreds of kilometers in radius.

Once he succeeded in working on that fire elemental godly item, Saleen immediately felt that his magic chords were far more stabilized. He was unable to do anything about his body of water element, as the higher one’s level was, the more difficult it would become to achieve elemental balance. That was also the greatest difference between him and the goddess, magically speaking. He had to be very careful with manipulation of magic, but the goddess’ power of rules allowed her to ignore such risks, enabling her to cast magic to her fancy.

If Saleen did not make all six of the godly items his, fighting the goddess magically would be little more than a pipe dream.

After the Scorching Candle was worked on, the fourth godly item, the Dimensional Staff seemed to have sensed danger looming ahead. Despite having lost its weapon spirit, it still took flight, charging at Saleen as a wind dragon.

The godly item was unable to fool Saleen’s Eye of Souls. He even opened his third eye and saw countless spatial fissures forming all over the wind dragon’s body. If the wind dragon hit him, he would have ended up being cut into pieces, even if he was a god.

The spatial fissures were not worth mentioning. So long as one had defensive measures, one would be able to tough it out. However, countless Dimensional Blades stirred in the fissures. That would make it something capable of killing gods. Gods had mostly acquired mastery of space rules, so they would have only ended severely injured after being torn apart by the spatial fissures, and they would still be able to recover.

If the Dimensional Blades were to cut up a body, the spaces harboring them would have been extinguished immediately, causing the cut up body to be lost forever. There was even a possibility of all of the spaces being destroyed. If that were to happen, even a person like Saleen, who had a Figure of Fate, would have ended up dead.

However, the Dimensional Staff, which had lost its weapon spirit, had very apparent shortcomings. He fired several lightning icicles at it, which easily shot down the godly item. The item was then grabbed by a huge hand conjured using magic, and many suppression lightning runes were written on it.

The Dimensional Staff was the most autonomous piece of godly item that Saleen had ever seen. The material was special as well, preventing Saleen from absorbing it into his body and forcing him to take hold of it. It was fortunate that he had given away most of his magic staves, and he lacked such powerful equipment at the moment.

The staff continued to rattle in Saleen’s hand, refusing to submit. Saleen had no choice but to extend his power of the soul into it and shout, “when I reach the pinnacle of level 18, I will take you to another crystal wall system and give you a shot at becoming a living being!”

It was only then that the staff stopped struggling and rested quietly in Saleen’s hand, allowing Saleen’s power of the soul to write magic scripts in it.

After he was done subjugating the Dimensional Staff, he worked on the Deathly Night, which had been silent all the while. The Deathly Night was a carpet-like equipment. Saleen wiggled it in his hand and sensed faint sighs from the godly item. The Deathly Night then became a magic robe, which he put on.

Dark element had always been the most powerful of elemental powers. However, humans were not dark elemental creatures and their bodies repelled dark elemental powers. As such, the dark element was the least studied and least used element out of the six major elements.

The Deathly Night was sentient as well, but it was unable to sense how Saleen was able to be of help. However, it had no choice, as there was no way it could bring all of its powers to bear, regardless of the ones using it.

Saleen thought for a bit and said, “You will be my only magic robe from here on out.”

It was only then that the Deathly Night stopped lamenting. The 10,000 naturally forming magic patterns looked a lot more pleasing to the eye. Saleen realized that his defensive powers were truly guaranteed from then on out, and he would have never been thrown into any risks due to breakage of magic shields. It was a reassuring thought.

The Deathly Night was capable of conjuring boundless distance. Anyone out to attack him would need to first get through the Deathly Night before the attacks could get to him.

The last godly item was the Tears of Light. Saleen had made it the last piece because it was the piece that he was most certain of being able to take. He stuffed 24 pieces of broken divine personas into the piece of crystal that was about the size of a fist.

The Tears of Light cheered and a huge energy whirlpool emerged from within, absorbing every bit of the Lord of Glory’s broken divine persona’s powers into it.

The Lord of Glory’s divine persona fragments had complete rules in every single piece, which was equal to the peak state of a level 15 god each. If he had not run into Saleen, he would have been near invincible even when fighting level 16 gods.

Saleen then wrote his magic runes on the Tears of Light as well, subjugating it. The greatest use the Tears of Light would serve was to restore the power of mages, be it magic chords or power of the soul.

With the Tears of Light in his possession, Saleen gained practically limitless power for combat from there on out. If a mage were no longer limited by their magic chords and power of the soul, their combat prowess would be endless. At Saleen’s level, a battle could go on for months, and it would not bother him. The constitutional strength of his body had become a lot different from true mights.

That was where mages surpassed the enchanters. Even if an enchanter were capable of casting level 18 magic spells, their bodies would have collapsed under the stress. Theoretically speaking, if an enchanter cast level 18 magic, it would be tantamount to suicide.

After he was done taking in all six of the godly items, Saleen spent several days more to get familiar with the power of the six godly items. He had once followed his teacher’s teaching and no longer relied on the power of equipment to do combat. However, he could no longer afford to do so at present. It was the goddess he had to fight, after all. The six godly items aside, even if he were to completely master the Signet of Silence and the Lightning Moon, he still would not have had any surety of being able to kill the goddess.

Juno’s current psychological condition was stable. Saleen moved it inside the magic amplifier. It did not feel much initially, but when it began to merge with the magic amplifier, Juno fell in love with the place immediately.

Life was brimming within the magic amplifier, which made it practically a nation in itself.

“Master.” Juno willingly addressed Saleen with such a title. From then on out, unless Saleen’s magic amplifier were to end up destroyed, there would no longer be any risk of it dying. Furthermore, the sturdiness of the magic amplifier was so strong that even a very knowledgeable being like Juno was rendered speechless.

A demon mage of the Second Dynasty working on the equipment could have easily created over 100 godly items out of Saleen’s magic amplifier. Saleen, on the other hand, merged all kinds of materials into making a single piece of equipment, just so that it could have unparalleled sturdiness.

Such a wasteful way of doing things was extremely rare even in ancient times.

“What is it?” Saleen was feeling very pleased. Juno was still a comparatively normal weapon spirit, so much so that it had the most normal of personalities even when compared with many of his followers.

“Master, why do you not have creatures live within the magic amplifier? While the space in here is small, you could have easily established a nation in here.”

“I lack the power of rules, which is preventing me from being able to maintain integrities of souls within. The divine kingdom had natural rules capable of preventing souls from being destroyed. If living beings were to migrate into the magic amplifier...”

Saleen recalled Sika’s metal totem pole and became increasingly sure just how terrifying Raphael had been as a mage. He was only severely injured by the Holy See due to his reduced powers, just like the goddess had been when she was just resurrected. The power of rules in the metal totem pole was already capable of ensuring that souls of beings remained whole within.

Having souls remain whole did not equal allowing a living creature to maintain their self-awareness, rather it was ensuring that the power of the soul would remain unassimilated by the world after the being’s death, enabling it to remain as a power of souls. Only then could life continue to flourish and new beings could be born, making it a truly living world.

That was the rules of genesis. Only with such power of souls could the power of the Source be made whole, instead of having a place turn into a dead world.

He was formidable enough in terms of his combat prowess. It was quite a pity that his powers hardly allowed him to protect or nurture things.

“You may consider taking a perfect divine persona and absorbing it, thus acquiring the power of rules within, master.”

Saleen smiled and said, “You’re talking about Myers, right?”

Juno replied in a rather embarrassed manner, “Well, that thing will come for you sooner or later, after all.”

“I want to, but I’m afraid I’d just become more of the same if I were to do so. It’s still less risky to do it according to what my teacher taught me. I’ll take my time to train and travel to more planes to see more of what is out there. It’ll only be a matter of time before I develop the necessary rules.”

Juno sighed. The weapon spirit knew that it was incapable of swaying Saleen’s thoughts. If Saleen were to gain abilities to maintain the Source of a world, then it would make Juno the king, a supreme being, within the magic amplifier.

“No worries, Juno. The magic amplifier serves as a fundamental part of my being. You will become the most powerful weapon spirit in all of the planes in time.”

“Thank you, master.” Juno was very happy. It then added, “give me a day and I’ll see how many ancient magic spells I’ll be able to recall, master.”

“You know ancient magic too?” Saleen asked.

“Of course, my powers allow me to manipulate the six godly items. I wouldn’t be able to do so without understanding how elemental magic works,” Juno said, feeling rather pleased with itself.

“Very well then, I need to gather my people up anyway. You have one day. Get to it.”

Saleen took Juno and returned to the line of defense behind Lion City. They had taken over Lion City at present. With the war in the divine kingdom stretching over 100 years, the place had become a huge market as well.

In the beginning, the divine kingdom took the offensive, but as Saleen took charge, the angels were completely overwhelmed soon enough. Human professionals would come in often to kill angels to earn rewards.

That place was known to be a city of angels, but it was nothing but hell for the angels themselves.
