“That is the root to the goddess’ resurrection or her source of power. However, most of the people in the religion actually worship you instead, and that is hard to take in for a god. I’m surprised that Myers actually waited this long.”

“I’m not. Myers is all about fairness. Furthermore, having me conquering the divine kingdom made things a lot easier than her doing it herself. She will only need to defeat me, and that divine kingdom will be hers. Simple calculations.”

“So, you’re thinking of taking on the goddess head on?” Lex was very worried. She knew that Saleen’s powers were greater than hers, as he was considered to be at the pinnacle of level 17. However, the gap between level 17 and 18 was difficult to fill.

“I’ll take you and Sika to a place, and I’ll take Sir Jason along this time. We’ll be considerably more prepared after the trip.”

“What kind of place?”

“The edge of the crystal wall system.”

“How long will it take?” Lex knew right away that, even if she were to not be able to advance to level 18 just yet, she would have a lot to gain at the edge of the crystal wall system. At the very least, the gap between them and a level 18 being would be filled considerably, and they would no longer look helpless.

“I won’t take all that long, but I can’t say the same for you people. I’ll only be taking you guys there for the purpose of dealing with Myers when we’re home. Train well while you’re there, and I’ll think of a way to contact you all.”

“Will it be dangerous?”

“Of course it will be. But this time, I’ll have Dante tag along. Abyrus and Juno will be coming as well. I have six godly items myself, and if I am still scared to see Myers despite all of that, I’d be better off giving up the divine kingdom. Myers needs my lightning powers to completely kill off the heroic spirits. Things wouldn’t be so messy otherwise.”

“Why does she need to do that?” Lex was unable to help but ask. It was indeed tougher and more dangerous to kill the heroic spirits as a condition. If the goddess did not actually need to do so, it could possibly be a trap for Saleen.

“The heroic spirits drain power of the Source. The Cemetery of Heroes and hell, the Imperial City of the Abyss by extension, live off of Myers Mainland’s Source. Do you think Myers would be able to sit well with that for prolonged periods?”

Lex sighed and signaled for Saleen to leave. She knew that he would go to Metatrin City next. Her dreams of living a common man’s family life would be hopeless, so long as the matter of the mainland remained unresolved.

Even thinking of spending more time with Saleen in her tower was a luxury.

Saleen left the magic tower, but his army stayed behind in the palace. They had been testing out the new flying armor over long distance flight. The answers were right before their eyes and the mages began to analyze the data, making modifications to the original schematics of the armor. Saleen did not stay behind and instead traveled to Metatrin City through a teleportation portal.

Saleen called Sika up as soon as he returned to Metatrin City. The two of them walked around the city walls, with Saleen stopping every now and then to fix any damages on the walls using the six godly items.

The goddess definitely would not act against Saleen’s city, but that was not to say that her followers would do the same. It was possible that they would attack without her. Metatrin City had become a city of commerce, and getting damaged would incur considerable losses to him.

They walked the walls without escorts. Saleen was currently one of the most powerful mages on the mainland. Talking to Sika became considerably easier with only the lightning puppets for company.

“How are the Caucasians doing, Sika?”

“How else could they be doing? They eat, sh**, sleep, and do whatever else, just like they always do.” Sika continued training. She still looked like the Caucasian warrior from back then, making her look rather awkward as a priestess.

“If you were to give up becoming a priestess, would there be anyone to take your place?”

“There are probably three capable of doing so. All of them are at level 15 now.”

“Come with me to the edge of the crystal wall for a bit. You need to train there for about 100 years or so. It would take thousands of years if you were to get to level 18.”

“Getting to level 18? We need to go that far to kill Myers?”

“Nope. I’m just trying to drive her away. If we’re really out to kill her, it would probably doom the entire mainland,” Saleen answered. His concerns were similar to that of the goddess, which seemed rather weird. He used that to threaten her, but if he were to kill the goddess, she would used the same threat as well.

Sika frowned and asked, “so we can’t kill her?”

“Unless...she has no backups whatsoever. Just her and that godly item in her hand are already enough to keep my hands full.”

“Even with your teacher joining the fight?”

“Even with him, you, Lex, Dante, the Winged Skull, and Nailisi joining the fight, and all of us attacking at the same time, we’ll still be unable to kill her.”

“What should we do then?”

“Have her admit defeat and leave Myers Mainland. The mainland will be renamed Metatrin Mainland.”

“Are you planning to trade using the divine kingdom?”

“Impossible. If Myers loses, she’s welcome to go to wherever else she wants to, but I am absolutely not giving up the divine kingdom and the mainland,” Saleen replied adamantly. He was not willing to compromise on that.

“But what if we lose?”

“We head to the interdimensional space and sever the connection to the mainland completely. We’ll then open up a connection to the demon plane and wage wars there.”

“We’re still going to fight?”

“The mainland is still my home. Unless a day comes when there are no more gods around this place, or else...” Saleen did not continue. He cast his gaze far away from the city wall made of white stone. The clouds rolled in, and it seemed as if it was about to rain. He decided it would be great if such a beautiful mainland that was so full of life was able to continue existing.

Saleen had a rather weird feeling at that thought, wondering if that had been the goddess’ intention all those years ago that led her to becoming a god. She had the power to turn Myers Mainland into a divine kingdom after she became a god. If the place had become a divine kingdom, everything would have lived so long as she survived.

But then again, if that had been the goddess’ thoughts, the mainland should have never seen another god again.

Of course, heroic spirits would not have been allowed to exist either. If the graves of the heroic spirits posed no harm to the mainland, the ancient humans would have definitely thought of ways to keep souls intact. As such, the Imperial City of the Abyss would have probably harmed the mainland. The goddess had been there personally, and she never bothered to conceal her intentions to tear the place apart.

“Juno, take the six godly items and fix the entire city wall. Just do it like I did.” Saleen sighed and threw all six of them to Juno.

Saleen returned to the temple and began to contact all of his followers and bonded creatures scattered throughout the planes. He summoned every single professional beyond level 16 and told them to gather in Metatrin City.

Such summons had not been carried out for about 100 years.

The first to return was Truman. He was already a supreme mage in one of the subcontinent planes and had countless students. Over a dozen of them were his personal students, and most of them had advanced past level ten.

The Nature Temple of the goddess sent a mage to inform the goddess after receiving the dead body, arranging for a meeting time later.

The goddess was to help Saleen quell the seas, and the limit of the aid was set at a period of 20 years. The two parties were to meet up outside the Oceanic Ice Block in 20 years to deal with the problem of the Cemetery of Heroes once and for all and finally put it to rest.

When all of the heroic spirits of the cemetery were dead, then it would be the time for a showdown between the goddess and Saleen.

The showdown would be held in the Imperial City of the Abyss.

The agreement meant Saleen had 20 years to prepare for it, and they would have the showdown right after they had cleaned up the cemetery. That would serve as a test to the followers from both sides. The slaughter of the heroic spirits would be carried out with the goddess responsible for holding them down, while Saleen wiped the Sources of the spirits clean.

The followers of the two parties would be doing most of the fighting.

Saleen had no way of refusing the goddess’ proposal. However, that meant that if his followers were to advance, they would need to rely on the power of the Hall of Gods.

That was hardly a concern, and Saleen had no intention of bringing his teacher into that. Both Lex and Sika had no fear of the goddess’ followers, even if they did not train at the edge of the crystal wall system. That was because the goddess’s followers did not have level 18 powers. If they did, the goddess would not have been able to resurrect them so quickly.

The professionals returned to Metatrin City one after another. Saleen had already finished installing a teleportation portal leading to the chaotic void in the center of the temple.

No sound was heard from the large teleportation portal. Saleen nodded, and the mages of the temple activated the teleportation portal. As the light of magic lit up, the greatest group of powerful people on Myers Mainland disappeared into the magic array, together.

The mages of Metatrin City saw the people being teleported to an unknown coordinate and they were rather anxious. If they were lost in the turbulence of space and time, everything in the mainland would be thrust into chaos all over again.

Saleen and his people were hardly in danger. After they landed on the planet in the chaotic void, Saleen began to make arrangements regarding training. The frost dragon’s Star Shuttle became one of the best pieces of equipment for venturing near the edge of the crystal wall system. However, the piece of equipment had few spatial attributes to speak of, enabling it to carry few more than a dozen people in a single trip.

Saleen set up camp and released everyone he brought within the magic amplifier. Puppets and 500,000 lightning warriors were added to the fray, beginning to construct a city. He made the decision to conquer the nearby region of stars, making it the last battlefield.

If there were a day where his hands were forced to the point of not being even able to return to the interdimensional space, then he would have a showdown with the gods there.

When he was done with all that, Saleen adjusted the magic clock and took his teacher onto the Star Shuttle, heading straight for the edge of the crystal wall system.

The place seemed to be hundreds of millions of kilometers away from the edge of the crystal wall system, and it may have been even further away. The Star Shuttle alone would not have been able to cover such a distance. But even if the craft were to be able to fly that far, the closer one got to the edge, the more dangerous things were. That was, unless his own power of rules matured to the point of being able to survive at the edge of the crystal wall system.

Jason remained silent on the Star Shuttle, going into training mode right away. Sika and Lex did the same. Nailisi and the Winged Skull had an easier time. Regarding the power of rules, one of them possessed memories of many ancient souls, while the other carried the lineages of the bloodline of Luoluokaluo, which made development of rules far less difficult.

The most serious of them all was Eleanor. She had no intention of returning after she was done training there. Saleen handed the guardianship of the family of Metatrin to her. If Saleen were to die in battle, she would be the one responsible for bringing Saleen’s children there and training them until they reached level 18.
