Beyond the Eternity

Chapter 103: Ruined World (2)

Disaster.

When heard for the first time, one would usually think of a natural disaster like an earthquake or tsunami because that's indeed the case. But in the novel 'Song of Nightmares', that word had a different meaning.

In fact, there was a statement like this in the original novel.

Your journey starts at m_v le mpyr

「 Some can regress upon death, while others may be sent to a different dimension to start over. In truth, it all depends on the roles they're given. But there are those who are given the role of a calamity, and that will become their fate 」

Therefore, they are people who could not escape from their role as destoryers and become a possibility in the story.

[The first player has been slain.]

[The first seal of the Disaster of Storms has been released.]

"That's right. Haven't you guys been having a good time? It's good to live without being trapped, isn't that right?"

The Disaster of Ruin was a victim of his own story.

"You don't have to jump from world to world. It was disgusting. Living like a parasite that leeches off each dimension just to survive."

The young man known as the Disaster of Storms— spoke with a calm yet venomous voice like a warrior who had fought for a thousand years.

"Do you know how exhausting it was?" He spoke with bitterness as he took another step. "Every time you escape one story, you enter another, then another and another like reliving the same nightmare over and over again."

The people backed away instinctively. It was clear they didn't understand what he was saying. Even so, they did not attack. They couldn't help but listen to the nonsense he was saying.

It was then...

"...!"

The man appeared infront of another woman in a flash. The woman, including the other people, could not fandom what had happened.

His sudden movement was as instantaneous and unnatural as a movie scene change, which defied all sense of reason or logic.

He placed his hand on her chin and smiled. "I've seen alot of people but you have a beautiful set of eyes."

"No... Stay back...!"

The woman trembled and pulled from his touch. The Disaster of Ruin tilted his head as if he could not understand the woman's intense reaction.

"Stay back? Why? Do I frighten you?"

"P-Please... spare me."

"I see. Then die."

The time, the woman's body was completely annihilated within a blink of an eye. The boy laughed.

[The second person has been slain.]

[The second seal of the Disaster of Storms has been released.]

"Ha ha ha! That's what I'm talking about. I can feel my strength returning."

A tremendous amount of black power outwards from the Disaster of Absolute Destruction.

... Damnit, the second seal has already been unleashed. How are we supposed to beat someone like this?

[Exclusive skill, Omniscient Wall has activated.]

I became nervous once I read his status window. But I realised something was wrong when I read it again.

Why were his stats and skills' level this low? Isn't he supposed to be stronger than this?

Ah, I see. Because he was summoned in the Fourth Fable, multiple seals will be placed on him to make the game fair. It seemed Aurora really did her job properly.

"Thank you, Aurora. I'll take it from here."

The battle will be dangerous from now onwards, so I decided to put the fairy in my hands inside the dimensional storage ring. Fortunately, even living beings can enter and survive in that space.

[Exclusive skill, Incite has activated.]

Since the disaster was restricted due to the system, this was the perfect opportunity to kill him before he gets even stronger.

"Everyone! Listen here! Don't be fooled by this man. He is weakened because of the story, that's why this is the perfect opportunity to kill him!"

"....."

"....?"

Even then, the people did not move and continued to shake. It was natural. After all, they just watched as two people were completely erased to the last molecule.

If I was in their shoes, wouldn't I react the same way?

"Damnit, you got to be kidding me."

I cursed as the cold eyes slowly turned my way. I jumped back at once but a fist was already infront of my nose.

"...!"

I rolled across the ground and the first brushed past me. Keikoku Amane looked rather shocked and stared at his fist as if dumbfounded.

"Hold on... What's up with my strength? I'm sure I put more power into that punch."

[Exclusive skill, Purifying Sword Energy has activated.]

Keikoku Amane looked surprised as he saw my energy blade. "W-What? Isn't that...."

I didn't let him speak and swung the sword. Unfortunately, the bastard dodged the sword like it was nothing.

Keikoku Amane continued speaking like a curious girlfriend.

"Hmm. Isn't this interesting? Are you a martial artist? If I remembered correctly, the Murim World has already been destroyed. Therefore, you can't be a martial artist. Do you know why, because that world was destroyed by me."

I ignored what he was saying and continued swinging the sword.

Keikoku Amane looked rather displeased as he jumped from side to side. Perhaps he was the type that did not like being ignored.

"Hey, are you ignoring me now? That's right. It will be meaningless to continue talking now."

I swung my sword horizontally, but I only cut the empty space. The disaster suddenly disappeared from my vision.

"...!"

I felt an overwhelming pressure on my back. I barely managed to avoid a fatal blow by jumping away, but much to my misfortune, his palm grazed my side.

"Ack!"

Even though It was just a scratch, the pain coming from my side was excruciating. It was like my flesh was being torn apart from the inside.

[Your body has been affected by the 'Destruction'.]

[Warning! Your body is collapsing...]

[Exclusive skill, Omniscient Wall has activated.]

[The Omniscient Wall is protecting your body against the 'Destruction'.]

If It wasn't for the Omniscient Wall, I would have really died from just that stratch. The power of destruction was no joke.

"Eh? You're still alive? Has this ever happened before?"

Keikoku Amane looked as if he had seen something incomprehensible. Don't look at me like that, any player with 'Mana Control' would be able to resist the destruction.

Of course, I did not have the Mana Control skill. But I could the Omniscient Wall for protection.

"Attack this bastard!"

A voice was heard. While I was stalling for time, multiple puppets and the mind controlled Kagura jumped towards Keikoku Amane at once.

Keikoku Amane barely had any time to react before a flurry of attacks rained down on him. The combined assault of the puppets and the immense force of a Saint would have overwhelmed any player.

However, their attacks weren't strong enough to inflict damage on Keikoku Amane. To begin with, none of their attacks even landed on him.

With a flick of his hand, the first wave of puppets were destoryed just like that and scattered around the battlefield like broken toys.

Clang!

The sound of steel meeting metal reverberated through the air. Kagura's sword had stopped inches from his neck, caught by the metal claw.

Keikoku Amane smiled as if he was intrigued.

"It has been long since I have seen a fellow Japanese. But Isn't this one rather pretty? By any chance, are you a college student?"

Kagura did not answer and tried to release her sword.

Keikoku Amane looked at her for a while before he finally noticed. "Wait, mind control? Which bastard is responsible for this?"

His expression crumbled into a frown. It was as if he had seen something truly unpleasant.

It was then...

"Eh?"

... Kagura suddenly abandoned her sword and hugged Keikoku Amane with all her might.

"Hey, what are you doing? Although I like women, I don't like it when they're too clingy."

He struggled to break free, but Kagura showed no intention of releasing him. Instead, she tightened her grip even more as if to ensure no chance of escape.

What the hell was she thinking? Was she insane?

No, she could not control her body at the moment which means that the person controlling her was...

Swish!

In the next moment, something flew towards those two with a sound. No, it was multiple 'somethings'. Those 'somethings' were Mana bombs.

Naturally, the person who threw those mana bombs was Park Joonhyuk.

... That bastard, was he planning on taking both of them out?

"Damnit."

Even if I had noticed his plan, It was already too late.

The mana bombs flew, crashed with its intended target and exploded without delay. The shockwave exploded outwards, scattering debris across the battlefield which knocked the people off their feet. Even so, the people eyes was focused on the cloud of smoke that had erupted.

As the dust and smoke cleared, the result became more apparent.

"Oi, you with the ugly face! Do you think throwing a few mana bombs will be able to take me out?"

A voice came from the place that was hit by the bombs.

"I have to admit, it was a clever strategy-using a puppet to hold me in place while you aimed to finish me off with a powerful attack. But there are a few things that strike me the wrong way. How did you know I wouldn't kill her like I did the others? It's almost as if you knew exactly how I'd react beforehand. Well, I expected this much from the one who summoned me."

The tone of the voice almost made it seem like the speaker was unimpressed.

"But what about it? As long as the attack Itself isn't capable of penetrating my defence, I will remain unharmed. Therefore, It's meaningless."

Completely unharmed, Keikoku Amane released the cocoon that covered him and blew away the dust and smoke.

No, they were wings! Six translucent wings, that seemed to distort the space around them, slowly spread behind him!

There was also the sight of the unconscious Kagura lying besides him. Like he said, she was still alive. Most likely, he had shielded her from the explosion.

But why though? Wouldn't he benefit from killing her instead?

In any case, this is a very difficult situation.

"Tch!"

Park Joonhyuk, who had thrown the mana bombs from the top of the altar, clicked his tongue from displeasure.

Keikoku Amane glanced at the unconscious Kagura before shifting his gaze to Park Joonhyuk atop the altar. He spoke calmly as if he was having a simple conservation.

"You seem disappointed. Let me teach you something interesting. Have you ever heard of antimatter?"

"What nonsense are you saying now?"

"Hmm. From your reaction, It seems like you don't know. Or could it be that you don't really know? I thought this was common knowledge."

"This bastard, are you looking down on me?"

Keikoku Amane smiled but he seemed to take no humour in it.

"Elementary particles is said to make up the universe and for each particle, there exists an opposite—its counterpart, known as antimatter. When the two collide, they annihilate each other completely, releasing an enormous amount of pure energy. But what happens when someone is able to control that pure energy?"

Even though he said so calmly, his words completely inflicted fear into the hearts of the survivors.

"You see, with antimatter, I don't just destroy things. Everything my Antimatter touches will be thoroughly erased. No remains, no traces. A scientist I know said it was beautiful destruction, but I guess he was right back then."

"Stop talking rubbish and die already."

Park Joonhyuk created even more puppets and the puppets launched towards Keikoku Amane.

Even so, Keikoku Amane's smile widened. His six translucent wings began to vibrate as if to gather strength.

"You still don't understand, do you? Any form of matter that comes into contact with my antimatter will trigger an explosion—whether it's solid, liquid, or even natural gas. This includes even the tiniest particles that the eyes cannot see."

... Shit! This is bad!

Realising what he meant, I turned around and ran. Perhaps some of the people had realised the situation, they also turned and ran as well.

The term 'dust explosion' oozed its way into my mind.

Such a phenomenon only occurs in mines where fine dust is released into the air. But couldn't that guy do something similar using antimatter?

And this place just happened to be filled with dust particles.

There was the sound of laughter along with howling of the wind.

"Ha ha ha! Yes, that's right. Even something like dust particles can be ignited. But seeing as you're running with your tails between your legs, you must have already realised the truth by now."

Then the world shook and all sound disappeared.
