Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 482: He actually cried!

Chapter 482: He actually cried!

“Professor Fu, did you say you just had a phone conversation with Wen Ran?”

At the same time, in another city, Wu Tianyi asked this question, his face filled with astonishment.

After Xiao Wenqing was arrested by the police, the search for him ramped up, and he hadn’t dared to move a finger recently, let alone taking revenge on Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran. At the moment, he was hiding out in a simple civilian dwelling.

“Yes, it’s a golden opportunity. Even though Wen Ran verbally denied my words, when she sees those newspapers and realizes that what I’ve said is true, she will definitely divorce Mo Xiuchen. Watch out for movements in G City, as soon as she is alone, catch her for me.”

On the other side of the phone, there was a chilling, sinister satisfaction in Fu Jingyi’s tone. Did the young Wen Ran really think she could run away from him? Soon enough, he’d have her right back in his grasp, his own personal guinea pig.

“The situation has been quite tense these days, I…”

Wu Tianyi hesitated. He didn’t want to get caught by the police just by stepping out.

“What are you worried about? Once you catch Wen Ran, I’ll arrange for you to leave the country immediately.”

Wu Tianyi sensed Fu Jingyi’s impatience and did not dare to refuse any longer, promising, “Alright, I will definitely keep an eye on Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran. However, even if Wen Ran knows that she can’t bear children, she may not necessarily leave Mo Xiuchen since they share strong feelings.”

“If she only knew that she couldn’t have children, of course, she might not leave Mo Xiuchen. But if she found out more, if she realized that by being with Mo Xiuchen, she was only hurting him, then she would leave for sure.”

Fu Jingyi had only been in Wen Ran’s life for six years, but he had understood her character thoroughly. Even after all these years and her memory loss, her true nature wouldn’t change.

This was why he was so certain that Wen Ran would leave Mo Xiuchen. All Wu Tianyi had to do was wait for her to be alone, with no one to protect her, then abduct her.

Wu Tianyi’s expression reflected his shock. Other than her infertility, was there another secret about Wen Ran? However, this was not his concern. He only needed to capture Wen Ran. “Professor Fu, rest assured, this time, I will definitely capture Wen Ran for you. I won’t let her escape again.”

**

G City, a hotel room on the second floor.

When Wen Ran saw Mo Xiuchen approaching the hotel, her heart stopped.

Tears flowed out of her eyes like a breached dam, running furiously down her cheeks.

She froze in front of the window, her eyes blurry, watching as the familiar figure entered the hotel. She bit her lips hard, forcing herself to suppress the suffocating pain in her heart. She tightened her lips, wiped away her tears, took several deep breaths, and worked to regain her calm.

Soon, rushed footsteps echoed outside the door, followed by a knock.

The voice of Mo Xiuchen came through the door, “Ranran!”

Wen Ran sniffed hard and quickly wiped away the tears lingering in her eyes. She looked fixedly at the door.

“Ranran!”

The second call was tinged with affection and intense pain. His voice drilled into her eardrums through the door, scraping against her heart. She couldn’t see the blood, but the pain was unbearable.

Moving as if burdened by a heavy load, she walked over to the door, unlocking it.

Outside, every second felt like a year for Mo Xiuchen.

Never in his life had he experienced such panic. When he heard Wen Ran mention divorce during their phone call, it felt as if he had been struck by lightning. He could feel his world crumble within him at that moment. The world around him seemed to become immediately colder as if it were located in a freezing tundra.

As Wen Ran reached the door, her trembling hand couldn’t stop shaking.

It seemed to take all her strength just to grasp the doorknob, slowly twisting it open.

The handsome and dominating face of Mo Xiuchen suddenly filled her line of sight, rendering her breathless for a moment.

Earlier, when he was downstairs, she couldn’t see him clearly. Now he was standing right in front of her.

The familiar eyebrows, scent, and gaze were all too well-known to her, stirring up her tears. And yet, there was a difference in him.

The Mo Xiuchen she knew was always calm, collected, cool, composed, and able to handle the most daunting challenges.

Not like now, desperation etched on his handsome face. His eyes, usually so profound and wise, were bloodshot. His gentle gaze was now filled with anguish. His breathing was more erratic and restless than usual.

All these familiar yet foreign traits made her eyes well up with tears.

Not wanting him to see, just as the tears began to stream down her face, she abruptly turned away. But a moment later, she was in a warm embrace. He held her close, his choked voice sounded next to her ear, “Ranran!”

Wen Ran’s body stiffened and she felt as if she were rooted to the floor.

Mo Xiuchen only held her and called out her name, unable to say anything else. He clung to her, breathing in her scent, grounding himself in the sensation of her in his arms. It seemed to slightly alleviate the terror in his heart.

For a long while, there was silence in the room.

Wen Ran held her breath. Her slender body was rigid in his embrace. All of a sudden, a droplet of liquid landed on her neck. It felt as red-hot as molten iron on her skin, sending a shock through her body. Her brain seemed numb to the impact.

A moment of stiffness passed before she finally reacted, turning around in surprise.

When she realized where the droplet that had landed on her neck had come from, her heart clenched in pain. She stared in disbelief at the man before her, his eyes filled with unshed tears.

For a moment, her mind went blank.

He was crying!

Crying?

It took a long while for this realization to register in her mind. As her heart ached, her tears overflowed once again. Her hand trembled as she reached up to his face.

Mo Xiuchen remained silent and immobile lying in her arms.

The tall and handsome figure stood inside the door, the door behind him left ajar. Currently, there was no one in the hallway.

He looked at her tenderly. His heart throbbed with such intense pain that it released her precious tears.

Her cool fingertips slowly moved up, gently wiping away the tears on his face. He remained silent, unsure whether he should speak or wait for her to initiate the conversation.
