Chapter 259: Chapter 259 – Unexpected Reward

Both Flexy and Max were pretty tired. They went to Au Café where they planned to meet up with Ferin and Atlas ahead of time to rest and have something to eat.

"Man, I am beat." Flexy whined and groaned as he leaned against the soft chair. "That was too much even for me. How about you?"

"As you can see…" Max replied with a painful groan. His head was on the table and his muscles refused to move. "I am dead."

— He's already dead

— Lol, I love his suffering look

— Breeze looks like a ghost now. He probably needs to eat a lot of things

— No wonder that he ended up like this. He sweats like crazy earlier

"Hahaha!"

The chat made fun of him, and Flexy laughed loudly.

"I guess your body is still not as good as I thought. But still, it's an excellent progress. To reach this far from that condition," The orange-haired gaze at Max didn't lack any sort of respect. "I was genuinely surprised when you beat me in the course of the day earlier. Good job, buddy."

"Yeah, yeah…" Max groaned, having no way to reply seriously in his condition.

Normally, he would make fun of Flexy for saying such a cheesy line. But all he could think about right now was ending the day and getting onto a fluffy bed to rest. That probably would feel like floating in heaven.

He raised his head and looked at his orange-haired friend, who was preparing the material for the meeting later.

"When will my order come? I am starving."

"It will be prepared soon–"

"Thank you for waiting!"

"Oh, speak of the devil."

Just as Flexy answered his question, a robot tray approached his table on the second floor. It used the arm to move the order, two spaghetti and two iced cappuccinos, on the table.

The aroma made the already starving Max salivating. They immediately devoured the meal like raving wolves. The spaghetti on the plate disappeared soon, and Max gulped the free iced water the café had given them when they had just entered.

Iced cappuccino was something to enjoy, not something to be gulped down to satisfy his thirst. The meal was… satisfying. But it was somehow not enough for them.

"Let's order more." Flexy suggested, "I know you're still hungry. It would be strange not to after such strenuous activity."

"Right. I want something big this time… Like fried rice." Max responded.

The spaghetti was fine, but the portion was too small for adult men like them. It was a café portion and not a restaurant portion. Thus, it was smaller and more expensive than usual.

"Oh, East cuisine? Sounds good." The orange-haired streamer grinned and inserted another order. Then, he moved the screen to Max. "Please pay for it. Your promise."

Groaning, Max tapped his smartwatch on the screen to pay for the new order: two fried rice and a refill of iced water. He promised to pay for today's meal.

Their order arrived before long, and they turned into wolves once again and devoured everything. After being satisfied, Max smiled brightly and laughed.

"That's what I call a meal. The spaghetti from earlier was just an opening snack."

— I don't think spaghetti is a snack, Breeze…

— Bro, what are you talking about? Spaghetti is clearly not an opening snack

— Yeah! It's Hors d'oeuvres. Read that right next time!

— That's not the point…

"My bad, then. I will call it Hors d'oeuvres from now on." Max chuckled at the camera he put on the table. "Still, this café is so expensive. The interior is very nice, though. I think this is a good place for a date and not a meeting."

Pausing for a second, he turned to Flexy with a questioning look.

"I wonder why you chose this place. Is there something you hide from me?"

"Nothing," Flexy answered flatly, his lips curled up mischievously.

That only increased Max's suspicious level. If there was a bar that showed it, then it had already reached the max immediately from zero. This orange-haired streamer was planning something on top of the meeting.

— His face is so suspicious

— A surprise for Breeze? This is exciting

— Is this a prank now? But why did Flexy not even try to hide it?

— If Flexy really prepares a surprise, then he's bad at hiding it. This guy is definitely planning something bad!

— REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY! This guy definitely only wanted Breeze to feel anxious and think what he prepared when there is actually nothing!

Max had to agree with his viewers' guess. They were experienced people who had seen many pranks and surprise videos before.

Knowing Flexy's personality, both possibilities were possible. He could also just be joking and prepared nothing.

"Hehe, are you trying to guess what I am thinking?" Flexy laughed when he saw Max's troubled expression. He enjoyed having the upper hand from his friend. "Guess it, buddy. What would you do if you were in my place at a time like this."

What would Flexy do… That was a broad question.

But if he changed the question, what would he do in this kind of situation? Then… the answer was simple.

"I will mess with you."

Snap–!

"Exactly."

— His answer is so convincing.

Yeah, that wouldn't be good. There were still 10 minutes until the meeting time, and Max had no way of knowing what kind of plan Flexy had in mind. From when he met him to now, he knew that his friend had a lawful chaotic alignment and loved the entertainment.

'It's no use thinking about it. I believe it won't be harmful and only for a laugh.' He thought. 'Besides, if he tries to do anything I don't like, I can always get it back from him.'

Time was ticking. Flexy focused on his job, and Max played a puzzle game to entertain his viewers. After some time…

Tiriring–!

"Welcome to Au Café."

Flexy raised his head and smiled.

"Oh, they are here." He said.

Max's sitting position had his back facing the entrance, so he had to turn around to look at the incoming guests. When he turned around, his eyes widened in surprise.

"Yahoo!" Ferin greeted excitedly as usual while Atlas nodded at them. They were wearing matching clothes, with Ferin in a dress and Atlas in casual clothes.

However, Max's eyes weren't on them. Instead, he looked at the girl standing next to them. It was Lily.

"Good evening." She greeted them with a smile. She approached Max and stopped before him, leaning forward and whispering. "Congratulations on winning, Max."

And after that, she unexpectedly planted a soft kiss on his cheek.

"That's my reward."

He immediately coiled back and looked in disbelief at her mischievous and shy grin.

— O+o

— What did I just see?

— LilyPixel kissed Breeze? HOW ENVIOUS! I mean… What the heck?!

— THE SHIP IS SAILING!

— WOHOOO! Wait, I am going to draw this!

— So cute! I love them!

— Hahaha, he didn't expect the kiss and freeze like a robot

'Did she just kiss me?'

He froze as he watched Lily sit right next to him. It was still an incomprehensible experience. Why would Lily suddenly kiss him?

There was only one explanation. A single girl giggled in amusement as she looked proud while watching them.

"Did I do good?" She muttered in a way that only Max could understand her.

'Hell yeah.' Max answered in his mind.
