Chapter 1073: Die!

Little Pagoda felt so miserable that he felt like dying just to assuage it. He had never expected that the little bastard would teleport himself to Clan Leader Jing's location. What is he thinking? Did he actually believe that he was safe here? What the hell?

Clan Leader Jing cast an indifferent gaze at the unconscious Ye Guan.

The seven golden-armored figures were staring at Clan Leader Jing. The leader frowned because he could not see through the lady before him. Of course, it didn't matter. What was important was that they were clearly in cahoots.

He waved his sleeve, and the area where Ye Guan and Clan Leader Jing were located became illusory. His goal was to annihilate them both in one fell swoop.

Clan Leader Jing simply watched this happen without making a move. Although the space around them was shattering and exploding, neither she nor Ye Guan seemed to be affected by them at all.

A hint of confusion flashed in the leader's eyes. After staring at Clan Leader Jing for a long while, he waved his hand, and one of them shot toward Clan Leader Jing like a beam of golden light.

Clan Leader Jing's gaze remained calm as she muttered, "Die."

Boom!

A terrifying force suppressed the golden-armored figure charging at her. Then, he was erased as if he had never existed at all.

The leader's face became serious at the sight.

Clan Leader Jing looked up and stared at the leader, making the latter reel in shock.

The leader gripped his spear tightly, and a terrifying aura erupted from him. The spear in his hand trembled as he leaped forward, thrusting the spear toward Clan Leader Jing along with a myriad streams of temporal energy.

The leader had decided to make the first move!

Clan Leader Jing merely stared at the leader with an impassive face still.

"Freeze," she uttered.

Boom!

The leader was instantly frozen in place. The myriad streams of temporal energy emanating from him were frozen as well. The leader's pupils constricted, and he was horrified. He had just realized the terrifying might of the figure before him.

However, the leader was confused. How come a formidable figure capable of suppressing temporal energy was in a low-tier[1]universe?

The other golden-armored figures were struck with fear when their leader was immobilized in an instant. One of them decisively crushed a golden talisman, and a ball of flame took to the skies, disappearing in a spacetime tunnel.

Clan Leader Jing glanced nonchalantly at the remaining golden-armored figures and said, "Die."

Boom!

They were all erased.

The leader narrowed his eyes. He was utterly shocked and in complete disbelief that such a powerful figure was in a low-tier universe.

Clan Leader Jing's gaze finally landed on the leader. He was immediately terrified, and he hurriedly said, "Do you know who I am? I am the Commander of the Temporal Dao Hall. I maintain the order of the Dao of Time—"

"Die!" Clan Leader Jing snarled.

Boom!

The leader was erased. He couldn't resist at all.

A deafening silence descended.

Clan Leader Jing looked at Ye Guan, who was lying on the ground. An unknown amount of time later, Ye Guan finally opened his eyes.

When he saw the blue sky and white clouds above him, he let out a sigh of relief. He was finally in a safe place. Then, he remembered something and sat up. He looked around, and his gaze finally landed on a small town not far away.

However, the sight of it left him a bit puzzled. "Guy Pagoda... Where am I?"

Little Pagoda exclaimed, "Master Pagoda! Call me Master Pagoda!"

Ye Guan was at a loss for words.

Little Pagoda asked, "You still haven't recovered your memories?"

Ye Guan nodded. "Yeah, they're blurry."

After a moment of silence, Little Pagoda replied, "That temporal energy is indeed powerful. It didn't come from a Tier Six Civilization."

Ye Guan shook his head vigorously, and his heavy head became lighter. Then, he looked up at the old town in the distance and asked, "Master Pagoda, where are we?"

Little Pagoda was about to speak when a lady emerged from the old town. She was wearing a pristine white robe, and her gaze was both calm and steady. An invisible aura radiated from her as she walked toward Ye Guan.

Ye Guan found the lady to be strangely familiar, but he truly couldn't put a finger around it. Regardless, he was certain of one thing—the lady had a relationship with him, and it was most likely a good relationship. Otherwise, she wouldn't have helped him against those golden-armored figures.

Ye Guan started walking toward her and inwardly asked, "Master Pagoda, how should I address her?"

"She's your wife," Little Pagoda replied.

Ye Guan froze in shock. My wife? She's my wife?

He found it hard to believe that his wife had such an overwhelming aura, but he didn't doubt Master Pagoda's words at all. Master Pagoda gave him the impression that he wouldn't pull such pranks.

Ye Guan took a moment to examine Clan Leader Jing up close. With a smile, he was convinced that he truly had a good taste in women. Clan Leader Jing's looks and figure were unmatched. If he had to nitpick, he'd say that her aura was a bit too overwhelming, but he could surely deal with that.

Lost in thought, Ye Guan hadn't realized that Clan Leader Jing had already appeared in front of him.

Flustered, he smiled and took her hand, saying, "Wife—"

Ye Guan stopped himself, snapping to his senses. Something was not right here. This lady's gaze was completely devoid of emotion. No wife would look at her husband with such an emotionless gaze.

Ye Guan's expression darkened; he had fallen into Master Pagoda's trap.

Clan Leader Jing remained calm despite hearing Ye Guan call her "wife," but Ye Guan could feel the temperature around him plummet as if he had been thrown into an icy cavern. A bone-chilling cold swept across him, and his face turned pale as a sheet. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Ye Guan retracted his hand and was about to explain himself, but Clan Leader Jing waved her hand. The residual temporal energy within Ye Guan was obliterated, and at the same moment, a torrent of memories inundated him, overwhelming him with unbearable pain.

It took him a while to regain his composure, but the ordeal was worth it—his memories had returned. Ye Guan broke out into a cold sweat and cursed, "Master Pagoda, are you crazy?!"

I called her "my wife"? Ye Guan was utterly mortified. Is Master Pagoda trying to drive me to my death? Unbelievable! Is he trying to get me killed so he can inherit my legacy?

Seeing that Master Pagoda wasn't replying at all, Ye Guan's face darkened, but he had no time to dwell on it. He turned back to Clan Leader Jing and said, "I'm sorry, but I lost my memories, and I meant no offense."

Ye Guan remained wary of the lady before him, as she was incredibly formidable.

Clan Leader Jing turned, and Ye Guan's face changed drastically. He felt a sudden sharp pain in his fleshly body and soul as if he were moving at an incredible speed. Then, he felt himself come to a stop.

Ye Guan heaved a sigh of relief and looked around. Then, his brows furrowed in confusion. He had returned to the Guanxuan Universe, specifically within the confines of Guanxuan City.

He cast a bewildered gaze at Clan Leader Jing, wondering why she had brought him here.

However, Clan Leader Jing offered no explanations. Instead, she looked into the distance and asked, "Does this place look familiar?"

Following her gaze, Ye Guan's frown deepened. She was looking at the Guanxuan Guards Hall. He still did not understand her question, but at that moment, he noticed a man enter his line of sight. It was Fang Yu.

Ye Guan asked, "Clan Leader Jing, what is this about?"

Clan Leader Jing expression remained calm as she replied, "What do you think? Has the world become better?"

Ye Guan frowned.

Clan Leader Jing added, "Just watch."

Ye Guan turned his gaze to Fang Yu inside the Guanxuan Guards Hall.

Fang Yu was standing before an elderly man clad in the wide-sleeved robes of the Guanxuan Guards. His posture was ramrod straight, and there was a gentle smile on his face.

The elderly man was Gan Xiao, and he was an elder of the Guanxuan Guards, overseeing all of its operations.

"Bring it here," Gan Xiao said.

An elderly man entered with a tray in hand. The tray had a set of Guanxuan Guard robes and a wooden badge.

The elderly man walked up to Fang Yu and bowed slightly. "Lord Fang."

Fang Yu was surprised and looked at Gan Xiao. "Elder Gan, this..."

Gan Xiao smiled and said, "Lord Fang, from this moment onward, you are the First Commander of the Guanxuan Outer Guards. Congratulations."

First Commander?

Fang Yu's expression changed. The Guanxuan Outer Guards had nine commanders, but the first commander held the most authority, overseeing the remaining eight commanders.

It was a position essentially equivalent to becoming an assistant elder of the Outer Guards. In other words, there was a high chance he'd become the next Elder of the Outer Guards.

An elder had immense authority and power within the academy. They could easily destroy small to mid-sized sects or clans. Of course, Fang Yu's Fang Clan was no exception.
