Chapter 571 Peace isn't an option
Rain gulped when he understood the true power of the dungeons… they were able to gather mana from the dead of those who had the blood that created the spell of their formation. Still, they also absorbed the mana used inside it… and that energy was probably being used to change the interior of the dungeon. That would explain the cold, heat, and dust.
"... Wait, how is that possible?" Terra asked. "Are you saying that the dungeons are a spell able to drain the mana from the environment to enhance itself?"
"It most likely is. There is also a chance that it can also absorb the stamina that we use there. I will have to make some more experiments to confirm that," Rain explained.
"That is… I never heard of a spell that stays active for so long without the help of the caster," Sears said while frowning. "I can tell now why the enemies are so quiet. If the level of difficulty of the dungeons keeps spiking, it is only a matter of time before a disaster takes place from inside the country."
"The real annoying part is that I know that the enemies will make their move if I do anything against the dungeons… even though I have no idea how to shut them down yet," Rain said while rubbing his eyes. "My best guess is that we have to keep using the dungeon without using too much energy, but that will put everyone at risk.
"What can happen in the long run if the dungeon keeps increasing in power like this?" Terra asked.
"The most obvious event would be that it would obtain too much mana, and all the monsters inside would be spelled out. The real problem is that the more they kill outside, the more energy the dungeon will obtain, and the same thing will happen sooner," Rain explained.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Considering the new types of monsters appearing on the fifth floor, it is clear that the dungeon was programmed for that, to become a balanced force in large-scale battles."
"Programmed? What is that?" Seara fronwed.
"I mean… designed to do that eventually," Rain corrected himself. "Still, at least that confirms that the dungeons have been made to grow only to a certain extent every day. Those one hundred meters are the limits that they can keep growing. However, I think that in four months, when the fifth floor is completed, the dungeon break will happen since the mana levels on that floor were immensely high."
As long as the weather doesn't change outside, Rain, Terra, and Seara knew that the warriors would be able to stop the monsters. They would suffer some casualties, but they would be able to stop the monsters. The real problem starts afterward… if the current level of the dungeons was their limit, Rain imagined that the limit would break with the dungeon break…
A sixth floor would arrive with more powerful monsters, and then in a few months, it would break again and expel more powerful beast… it was a very annoying way of working and one that agreed well with the devious plans of the enemies. That was what Rain expected from them…
"I will alert the others, but we will have to be careful not to be too obvious with those changes," Rain said. "Still, things should be fine for a while once the dungeon break happens. I will have time to investigate the enemy's territory."
Terra and Seara nodded… for now, that was the only thing that they could do: keep preparing in order to have the beast weapons for when they have the chance to strike back with all their might.
After alerting his friends, they quickly realized the danger of the situation… they had relaxed a bit since all of their troops also had learned Limit Breaker and Magic Boost. They had an army of six thousand now, but it seemed that they needed more… with that in mind, they began to train everyone even more harshly.

At this point in time, Rain realized that he didn't have the luxury of saving points anymore… he used all his points into intelligence to increase his magic attack power, and thanks to it, he soon felt a sense of power inside him. Despite that, he didn't feel like it was enough… he would never feel like it was enough until all the enemies were defeated.

"Stealth and Horsemanship are too far behind the other skills. I guess I will have to try to be stealthy while riding something. That should be easy," Rain thought while rolling his eyes.
Still, dealing with those skills would be easier since the others were on the right path as well… in a few weeks, they should have been maxed out.
To make sure that Rain would have a better time training his riding skills, Rain thought that it would be nice to teach his kids the basics of riding as well… they were too small to actually control horses, but Rain also wanted to make them evolve the human path as fast as possible.
One of those days, while Rain was testing the best horses that he could find and were skilled enough to move without making too much noise, he suddenly felt a slight tremor coming from underground. After checking the mana levels around, Rain confirmed that no spell had been used… but he could tell that something had happened. The peace was over...
