Chapter 1358 Over For You All
Chapter 1358 Over For You All
A vein ticked in Cloe's temple right now so much that if she had some courage, she'd have liked to take that same stone from Raelle and smash it on her head. This woman was thinking of getting everything done all at once just so that she'd have to go through a 'troublesome' experience only once. Cloe did not think Raelle would do that. Once again, she exceeded her expectations but then again, if she didn't go above and beyond her imagination how would she be Raelle Xiang, no?
Cloe touched her jaw which was aching all of a sudden, all because she felt a need to bite someone and by that someone, of course, she meant Raelle. God, if only she had a little bit more courage in her she wouldn't be just standing here and listening to that nonsense.
"You have got to be kidding with me," said Cloe.
"I don't do that and you are aware of that too," replied Raelle.
"Then why else you are even saying this? You mean to say to bring in Xiang Wai too. I had to share my ring hunting with her, now I have to share my celebration too?"
"Sharing is caring, isn't that what you always love to say."
"Thanks for throwing my words right at my face."
"Pleasure is always mine."
Cloe took a deep breath and added, "Chief, you are sick."
"In my head. I know." Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Cloe was startled when she heard her accepting that so easily without any obvious displeasure on her face.
"Why are you so surprised? You have said that so many times in your head. It's the first time you said it out loud but clearly, you never had good control of your facial expressions so it was easy to read you. Do you really think I have no clue about what opinion you have of me?"
Cloe cleared her throat and said, "But you do have to agree with me on this."
"I am agreeing, aren't I?" asked Raelle. "But since I am sick, you should be cutting me some slack too. I just told you, that having too many gatherings has already messed up my mind. Don't add more to it. I'm trying to just minimize these unnecessary things as much as possible before my wedding ceremony because I'd like to stand there with a smile and not with a scowl."
Cloe looked at Raelle and said, "I never thought you'd do so much just to make someone happy. Clearly, you have no interest in weddings and even more so in all these tastings and photoshoots and all that. But you had been patiently going through it, I almost thought your core changed. It seems you are just too good at deception and even I couldn't tell what you were really feeling. Sorry to add more to your trouble."
"It's okay. You said I'm a special friend. I can add some trouble into my life for you. But as I said, it's better to get more things done in one shot. So, please, just go and get Major on this plan. I'm not going out with her later."
Cloe chuckled, "You clearly care about her more than you let on."
"You are talking too much."
"I always do though," responded Cloe with a laugh. "Fine, I'll ask Wai and coordinate with her. But don't even think about adding your bachelorette party to this. That's a separate thing and more people are involved in that too. If anything, I'd add your bridal shower into it too to wrap up things for you."
"What's a bridal shower?" asked Raelle. She didn't seem to have heard about this one. This wasn't in the wedding activities list, was it? And what do you even mean by bridal shower? What kind of a shower is this? She only liked sharing her showers with her husband and that made her think about this morning when she blocked Xian in the bathroom.
"You'd know when it happens," was Cloe's answer. She did not know what was going through Raelle's head or she'd have been really shocked right now by the colorful thoughts her boss was having in the office. How very unlike Raelle to do so! But thankfully she didn't know it and neither did she need to know it.
"You all taking things too far for no reason. Come on! I'm technically not even a bachelor." Raelle thought they were taking this chance to squeeze in all the unnecessary activities just to annoy her just because she agreed to do it the right and elaborate way for Xian's sake. But clearly, she didn't have this in mind when she agreed!
"We don't care," was Cloe's response. "I'm gonna go and call Wai. You can get back to your work now." She felt like she needed to get things done as soon as possible before her boss' mood changed like the weather outside.
"Aren't you in a hurry? Take your time. Don't rush her," said Raelle.
Cloe gave her a smile which obviously had no good intention behind it. As if she didn't know why Raelle wanted them to take their time. She was even resorting to delaying tactics now. Cloe felt like laughing at what had become of Raelle Xiang who never had to follow others' whims in life but was now pushed around like a marrionatte all because of a wedding ceremony.
"I'll avenge this laughter," said Raelle to herself when she watched her leave. So what if she was in a bind right now? She wouldn't stay like this forever! Once she is free, she'd make everyone pay the price for pushing her around like this. And she even had it all planned as she opened the spreadsheet on her laptop and added Cloe's name to it along with how she was gonna deal with her.
"HA! Do you all think I've fallen once I'm in love? Dream! I'd rise above this. For now, I'll just act obediently to make my husband happy. That's the only goal I have for now or it would have been over for you all."
