Chapter 1388 Reassure Him
1388 Reassure Him
After spending a fulfilling and tiring day, Raelle came back to find her husband who was waiting for her in the airport's VVIP lounge. Sitting on the comfortable lounge sofa, Shui Xian seemed to be focused on the tablet screen with a slight frown etched between his brows.
Thinking of something, Raelle slowed down her movements and even stopped the assistant from speaking. She walked behind Shui Xian and covered his eyes.
Shui Xian's vision suddenly darkened and he felt the touch of soft, familiar hands carrying the familiar scent of Raelle's hand lotion. But he still went along with her as he asked, "Who?"
Raelle purposely sweetened her voice as she asked, "Take a guess."
Shui Xian's lips curled up in amusement and his hand covered her delicate ones as he said, "Raelle."
Raelle put down her hands and hugged him from behind saying, "How did you guess?"
"Who else would come here except you?" asked Shui Xian in return. He rubbed her head adding, "It's not like you to be so playful so I was a little surprised. Besides, I know your smell. I can never make a mistake when it comes to you."
Raelle raised her brows at him nuzzled against his cheek saying, "You are showing off."
"I am," he accepted without any hesitation. "Why wouldn't I show off?" His voice lowered and became deeper, giving it a charming and seductive touch. "I have left a mark on every inch of your skin. I don't think there is anyone who can be more familiar with you than me."
Raelle buried her head in his neck and smiled to herself. She did not feel shy about his explicit words. She wasn't the shy person between the two of them from the beginning. She was always open and honest. She'd do whatever she felt right and it didn't matter to her what others had to say about her behavior. Time and place were never her consideration too.
"Come here and sit with me," said Shui Xian.
Raelle moved from the back of the sofa to the front and wanted to sit down but Shui Xian held her wrist and tugged. The pull made her sit on his thighs and she instinctively hugged his neck and looked at his mischievous smile making her not know what to say. Shui Xian's index finger brushed Raelle's nose as he inquired, "Did you have fun?"
"Fun!" she answered.
"What did you do?" he asked further as his hands wrapped around her waist, holding her firmly in his lap. Raelle shared the day's details with him carefully as if by doing so, she'd be able to include him in her day. Except for the experience of baking a cake, she shared everything with him without hiding a single detail. And Shui Xian, as always, listened to her attentively and responded from time to time too. Seeing her lively and spirited look, he was glad that he made the right decision of planning the trick with Mu Chenyan instead of sneaking to Country G with Raelle early. If they had taken the flight in the morning, how would Raelle have this new experience and memories? He believed his trick was worth it.
He pinched her nose lovingly, "My wifey had a lot of fun, eh? I was all alone waiting for her to remember me but she was busy enjoying herself too much."
"Whose fault is it?" retorted Raelle. "Just because I am not blaming you, doesn't mean I don't understand that you purposely tricked me."
Shui Xian pursed his lips and cursed himself mentally for bringing up this topic. Wasn't it good to let her just forget all about it? What was he even thinking by reminding her of his role in this play?
"I did it for your own good," he said righteously. "As I said before, I want you to experience everything before deciding whether you like it or not. Don't have preconceived notions. Yes, bachelorette parties usually have spa treatments, wine tastings, and all kinds of self-pampering activities but Yanyan knew that wasn't something for you, so she decided to create her style of bachelorette party which was unique and fun. Isn't it good that you gave it a chance? Now, you know that it was worth it, no?"
Raelle agreed with him without any argument as she had no argument to make right now.
"Why do you smell so sweet?" asked Shui Xian as he sniffed. "It seems like cream... Cake? Where did you go to get this smell on you?"
Raelle pursed her lips. She was wearing the same clothes that she wore while baking the cake. She came straight to the airport from there, so she didn't get a chance to clean up. Who knew she'd have the scents of baked goods stuck on her? Even worse was that Shui Xian's nose picked up these aromas so easily too.
"Oh, it must be from the cafe," she answered while dodging her eyes. She had no experience in lying. At most, she could hide things from people for a while. But lying wasn't her thing. Especially with Shui Xian. She was the first believer in having a transparent relationship. Now, she was the one lying and it made her feel uncomfortable too.
"Maybe it's from there," Shui Xian nodded to himself in understanding and didn't continue the topic. The reason was simple, he had noticed her avoidance and since she did not clear it up, it meant she didn't want to tell him. So, he decided to pretend like it didn't matter. He'd know when he was supposed to know. "Are you tired? Do you wanna take a nap?"
"When are we flying out?" she asked him as she yawned. She was indeed tired today after so much physical activity. Her mind was used to high-intensity work but her body wasn't. Even if she kept the habit of exercising all her life, it wouldn't change the fact that she was an office worker who spent most of her day on the chair in her office.
This kind of playing in a water park, cycling around the city, and baking a cake were all things that she hadn't done before. So, it exhausted her body and she did not wish to even move right now. Even if it wasn't the time for her to go to bed yet, she still wanted to lie down and take a nap right now.
"Soon," responded Shui Xian. "We'll board in fifteen minutes. You rest against me in the meantime."
As Raelle had no wish or motivation to move right now, she immediately laid her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. She didn't plan to sleep but just wanted to rest her eyes for a while. Shui Xian looked at her face lovingly and brushed away the hair that fell on her face. His other hand gently caressed her back in a slow but calming motion. Raelle felt peace just lying like this, held in his arms, and even had the illusion that she was about to sleep. Her hand went to his hair and kept playing with his hair with her eyes closed. Seeing that it was time to board, Shui Xian called out to her in a whisper, "Baby, are you awake?"
"Hmm..." she hummed in response and slowly opened her eyes which were filled with sleep now.
Shui Xian's heart melted just seeing her lying this. It made her seem like a soft kitten rather than a wild and fierce cat that she usually was. It tickled his heart and made him want to ravage her right there and then but he had to control his urges as it wasn't the time and place for this.
"Can you walk? Or should I carry you?" he asked in a soft voice as if he was talking to a little kid, afraid of startling him.
Raelle rubbed her eyes and looked around before saying, "I'll walk."
"Okay," Shui Xian sounded rather disappointed but he still went along with her wishes.
Both of them boarded the private jet one after the other and waited to take off. "Do you want to wash up?" inquired Shui Xian. "You can go clean up and change if you want to."
Raelle looked down at her clothes and decided to do so. Shui Xian gave some instructions to the staff before he sat down to wait for Raelle. When Raelle came out Shui Xian offered her a cup with unknown stuff inside. Raelle raised her brows at him.
"Drink this. It's a cold medicine brew. You played in the rain today. It's better to take precautions."
"I drank the ginger tea," she told him. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"That's good but double security is better than the single one, don't you agree?"
Raelle sat down and took the cup from his hand. He was thinking about her and she did not want to let him down either. It was just the cold medicine, since he made the effort to ask someone to bring it on their flight, she could at least drink it for his sake. It was just to reassure him anyway.
