MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1143 Optional Challenge

1143  Optional Challenge

"Alright. Rest time's over."

Whoosh!

At the very moment an entire day had exactly passed since the end of the second round, Scho'doxa appeared in front of them once more, giving off an imposing presence the moment he appeared.

Unsurprisingly, the aura he radiated was more than enough for everyone to get up on their feet, including Valyr and the others, who seemed to be in the middle of a conversation.

Though their conversation was abruptly cut short, the five instead shifted their attention towards the man above them, slightly curious as to what he'd do next.

Swoosh!

Taking note of the various gazes he'd gotten in response to his sudden show of force, Scho'doxa went ahead and waved his arms as if he were conducting a band, sending out a myriad number of energy strands in the process.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Within seconds, all these energy strands hastily made their way towards the arena where the second round was held, causing almost everyone on the field to redirect their gaze towards the arena in response.

"Hmm." Once Scho'doxa was certain that all of the energy strands he released were now surrounding the arena, he then proceeded to swipe one of his arms downward, causing a maelstrom of energy to rain down on the arena soon after.

Crackle… crunch!

Hearing how the energy collided with the arena, a considerable portion of people on the field thought that the man was slowly demolishing it as a show of force, reminding everyone of the entity that was leading the tournament they were in.

However, as more and more time passed, the people began to realize that what Scho'doxa was doing had nothing to do with demolition whatsoever.

Instead, it would be more apt to call it renovation.

Crackle… crackle… crack!

As the sounds of something cracking from the arena began to increase in frequency, everyone watched as the outer layer of the arena gradually peeled off, revealing a layer that looked quite similar to the metallic material that made up the android from earlier.

By the time a few minutes had passed, the weathered arena that everyone was in during the second round was all but gone.

Taking its place was an arena that seemed to be fully made out of metal from the inside out, causing many to recall the humanoid energy construct that stood beside Scho'doxa earlier.

Though, just as everyone thought that it wouldn't be long before all of them were transported into the new arena, a voice began to echo out from the field all of a sudden, causing all of them to look in the direction of its origin.

Whoosh!

"What the hell?" Whilst everyone was expecting to be teleported to the new arena the moment it was done, Valyr was instead expecting to be saved for last, considering how Scho'doxa told him that he'd passed the third round.

Yet, against all expectations, he was instead the first one to be transported to the arena, having an invisible energy carry him there.

Because of that, it went without saying that everyone on the field paid attention to him, causing a few who recognized Valyr's appearance to recall what happened during the first round.

With that, Valyr's feats during the first round soon spread throughout the entire crowd once more as if it were a forest fire, eliciting a considerable portion of people to look at him with both fear and reverence.

Of course, there were also those who had different expressions on their faces once they heard of Valyr's feats.

One of those examples would be the Shou brothers.

"So, what if you killed a Myth-level being while you were still at Rank 3?" Hearing all of the discussions the people around them were having, You let out a snort as his expression turned grim. "In my eyes, you just got lucky!"

"Colonel…" Though his expression was more or less similar to his brother, Zuo looked at the feats the people were talking about from a different perspective, prompting him to wonder whether there really was a need for their retaliation.

Surprisingly, a few other people on the field had similar thoughts to Zuo, wondering whether it was the right thing to antagonize the young man Scho'doxa was bringing over.

"I know it's for the Empire…" muttered Meirat to himself, his expression a mix of various emotions. "But is war really the only way that's available for us to resolve this?"

Being one of Khorza'an's Chosen, Meirat knew that he was merely an extension of their Emperor's decisions, having no say as to whether or not a decision of the Emperor was correct.

In fact, it was because of that ideology that he and a few other orcs ambushed one of the Akashic Battlefields within the human kingdoms in the past, hoping to slaughter humans with high-ranking classes in a bid to reduce humanity's might.

Nevertheless, that did not stop him from having his own thoughts in the matter, thinking of the entire war as something that only brought losses to both sides.

'Considering how the Emperor even plans to embroil the elves into the war… I really wonder whether I'm doing the right thing,' thought Meirat, only to correct himself soon after.

'…Or better yet, whether we're doing the right thing.'

Whoosh!

Oblivious to the various thoughts people had due to his appearance, Valyr eventually arrived at a certain portion of the arena, appearing within what looked to be an audience box only made available for the noble elite.

Slightly confused as to why he'd been brought to the arena first, the young man soon got his answer the moment Scho'doxa appeared in front of him, with everyone else appearing on the field soon after.

Briefly looking at the people that was nearest to him choose their opponents for the third round, Valyr shifted his gaze towards Scho'doxa before raising his eyebrow. "So?"

"Hmm? Oh." Looking back at him in response, the man went silent for a bit before understanding what was going on.

"Yeah, just wanted to change it up," the man told him, shrugging his shoulders soon after. "Whether you appear in the arena first or last doesn't matter. After all, you're the only person on the field at this moment to have passed the third round."

"Really?" Hearing those words, Valyr paused for a bit before looking around, eventually confirming that he was the only one among them to be inside an audience box. "Wasn't there 340 other people with me during the second round earlier, though?"

"4th Tier Seeds," said Scho'doxa in response, which was enough for the young man to understand what was going on.

With that, he returned his attention back to the arena below, only to be greeted by the sight of people finally fighting against the opponents they've chosen.

"Say…" Whilst Valyr was in the midst of watching the few remaining people choose their opponents for the third round, Scho'doxa asked him a question all of a sudden. "Don't you think it's kind of boring just watching them fight?"

"Do you want me to head down there and fight a human puppet as well?" asked Valyr in response, getting a rough idea of what the man wanted to say. "Or are you proposing something else?"

"Just a small challenge, that's all." Scho'doxa faintly smiled with amusement. "Of course, you're free to refuse."

Ignoring the man's latter statement, Valyr raised his eyebrow as he asked him, "What's the challenge, exactly?" n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Call it my curiosity wanting an answer to its questions," replied Scho'doxa as he maintained a faint smile. "I'm pretty sure the two of us know that the hardest opponent one could fight during the third round is a human puppet that's one entire class rank above them."

"But what if I told you that I had a human puppet that's two entire class ranks above you?"
