"We are in danger. Inside the resource point, a bird-type intelligent magic beast at the Senior rank was hiding. In a few day's time, this magic beast would attack"

"You know that there is not a single Senior Mage in our camp. If such a strong magic beast attacked, none of us would survive"

It can't be helped, the difference between the Junior and Senior Rank was too vast. Those at the Senior Rank can easily kill those that are below it. They are simply on two completely different levels.

"What? A Senior Rank magic beast?! How could such a dangerous beast appear? Damn it! It must have been because of the crimson gates again!"

Rezen had always been a cautious person but he could sense something. Sooner or later, the clash between humanity and the magic beasts will reach its peak, or more like the final clash between humanity's Guardian and the magic beast's Sage is approaching.

The winner between the two will decide the trend of the world and Rezen had a theory of who will win already.

He must make use of this time to increase his strength. If not, he would die in a few years.

Being cautious enabled him to save his life on multiple occasions but with the current trend of the world, caution would be his final weakness if he doesn't lessen it.

He must take risks and accumulate merits!

While the City of Hope forcefully drafted the mages to defend the city it's not like they wouldn't receive anything in return.

Firstly, all who participate receive some resources and those who are able to contribute greatly will undoubtedly receive even more rewards.

Rezen is currently just a Junior Rank mage, not even at the peak of the rank. The achievements he can have are limited but now, there is a chance.

His chance is precisely that hidden Senior beast. While he cannot kill it personally, if he conspired to kill it, wouldn't he achieve merits that are normally impossible for someone like him to have?
