Chapter 573: Chapter 572: Yin Qin, You Are Everyone’s Trouble (Third Update)
The night was so dark, one’s outstretched hand was barely visible.
We set off in ten minutes.
Yin Qin lay on the ground, feeling as if he were in enough pain to die. He just wanted to sleep, to completely lose consciousness.
Luo Xiaolang and Wei Ziming sat a little further out, maintaining absolute silence as they stayed alert for anyone approaching.
Ji Baijian returned to Song Zhizhi’s side.
Song Zhizhi tightly held onto Ji Baijian’s hand.
Ji Baijian took her into his arms.
She said, “I had always hoped for my younger brother.”
“I know.”
“If we encounter him next time…” Song Zhizhi’s throat tightened, “Don’t hold back.”
Ji Baijian embraced her tighter.
He knew her guilt.
He knew very well why Song Zhizhi had given her brother another chance.
Because he was family.
Family ties are not easily cut.
When he went to exchange her brother, Song Zhizhi whispered into his ear, “Be careful of Song Zhidao.”
She actually knew her brother was no longer on her side, but she still wished to bring him back.
He understood all her feelings.
And he would do everything he could to fulfill the promises he made to her.
They nestled together for a while.
Ji Baijian looked at the time, “Let’s go.”
Everyone got up from the ground.
Yin Qin struggled to get himself up.
He didn’t want to move at all.
As soon as he stood up, he felt like his legs were broken.
The thought of how much further they still had to travel that night was enough to make him feel like he was collapsing.
He couldn’t help but complain, “Can’t we just hide somewhere and continue in the morning?”
“No,” Ji Baijian directly refused.
“My leg hurts,” Yin Qin whined.
“You deserve it.” This was said by Wei Ziming, “I told you not to come along, but you insisted. Now you’re just slowing us down.”
Yin Qin felt ashamed.
He cringed and remained silent.
Wei Ziming was indeed hostile towards Yin Qin.
He knew the ordeals Luo Xiaolang faced because of Yin Qin and he hadn’t brought it up only to spare Xiaolang the trouble. Now, confronting him, he certainly wouldn’t show any kindness.
The group was preparing to move in the dark.
Luo Xiaolang suddenly said, “Someone is following us.”
Song Zhizhi’s heart tightened, and she quickly grabbed onto Ji Baijian.
Ji Baijian took her hand, “Don’t be afraid, we can escape.”
“Go!” Wei Ziming decisively commanded.
Everyone quickened their steps and marched forward.
Yin Qin’s leg was in extreme pain.
With the need to run forward without regard, he was clearly at his limits.
They’d run a long distance.
Suddenly, Yin Qin collapsed onto the ground.
Everybody stopped.
“Yin Qin, get up!” Wei Ziming called out to him.
Yin Qin rose to his feet.
The moment he did so, his legs gave way again and he fell back down.
Blood was oozing from his leg again.
Wei Ziming was exasperated, “Yin Qin, did you come just to slow us down?”
Yin Qin gritted his teeth, got up from the ground.
He said, “I won’t hold you back!”
Wei Ziming gave him a look.
At that moment, Ji Baijian’s tone towards Yin Qin softened significantly, “Endure a bit.”
Yin Qin nodded, “I know.”
“Hurry, there seems to be quite a few coming after us. They’re close.” Luo Xiaolang reminded.
Yin Qin kept pace with everyone’s steps.
The pace was rather fast.
Song Zhizhi couldn’t keep up for long either.
She was being supported by Ji Baijian, they were moving too fast for her to keep up.
She gritted her teeth.
Ji Baijian said, “Climb on to my back.”
“Ji Baijian.”
“Hurry up.” Ji Baijian bent over.
Song Zhizhi climbed onto his back.
Ji Baijian, carrying Song Zhizhi, kept up with Wei Ziming’s pace.
Yin Qin gritted his teeth and kept going as well.
Luo Xiaolang remained at the back.
A group of people were moving aimlessly through the forest, changing directions continuously. Though they seemed aimlessly, those behind them kept on their trail, pressing close.
“Haven’t we shaken them off yet?” Wei Ziming asked.
Everyone was somewhat taken aback.
Showed truly how unnatural it was for such a large forest, to track under such darkness.
“No, they are still behind us,” Luo Xiaolang commented.
At that moment, everyone couldn’t help but quicken their pace.
Yin Qin’s legs were in such pain that he nearly felt numb.
He tripped and fell to the ground again.
“Yin Qin.” Ji Baijian stopped.
Yin Qin struggled to get up, but his legs ached so much he couldn’t muster the strength.
“How are you feeling?” Ji Baijian squatted down to ask him.
“I’m sorry,” Yin Qin apologized.
He felt guilty at the moment.
“I didn’t realize I was this weak. I am genuinely weak,” he admitted.
“Stop talking, get up quickly!” Ji Baijian encouraged him.
“I don’t think I can go on. You guys should leave. Don’t worry about me,” Yin Qin suggested, ” They don’t know me; they probably won’t harm me. You guys should leave quickly.”
“These people kill on sight! They do not care if they know you or not! Be strong, get up.” Ji Baijian tried lifting him up.
“You really don’t have to worry about me. You guys should go; I don’t want to be a burden to everyone…”
“They’re getting closer,” Luo Xiaolang abruptly said, “we’re only about 100 meters away.”
“Get moving.” Yin Qin pleaded to Ji Baijian, “Just go, leave me.”
“Yin Qin, get up!” Ji Baijian pulled Yin Qin up, refusing to let him give up.
Song Zhizhi also got off Ji Baijian’s back, “Yin Qin, pull yourself together.”
“80 meters.” Luo Xiaolang estimated the distance.
“I really can’t go any further. Don’t worry about me, just go!” Yin Qin pushed Ji Baijian away.
He wouldn’t let them all die because of him.
“60 meters!” Luo Xiaolang said, a worried frown appeared on her face, “If we don’t leave now, we won’t have another chance!”
Ji Baijian tried to pull Yin Qin again.
But Yin Qin simply pushed him away…
Ji Baijian was about to carry Yin Qin on his back.
Unexpectedly, Luo Xiaolang stooped down and picked up Yin Qin.
Yin Qin was startled.
And at that moment, he held onto Luo Xiaolang’s neck tightly.
“Let’s go,” Luo Xiaolang said to Ji Baijian.
Ji Baijian hesitated for a moment, then put Song Zhizhi back onto his back, and they all quickly departed.
Yin Qin lay on Luo Xiaolang’s shoulder.
He was very close to Luo Xiaolang’s breath, and it was fast.
No matter how strong Luo Xiaolang was, carrying a man of over 140 pounds was a strenuous task.
However, Luo Xiaolang gritted her teeth and did not utter a word.
She kept up with the pace of everyone, and never once slowed down.
“Xiaolang, are you tired?” Yin Qin asked her.
Luo Xiaolang did not have the energy to pay attention to Yin Qin.
She was carrying more than a hundred pounds and had to listen carefully to the sound of the footsteps. She couldn’t be distracted.
“Xiaolang, if you can’t go on, just let me down…”
“Shut up!” Luo Xiaolang suddenly snapped.
She barely had time to say a single word to Yin Qin.
A single misstep could result in them being riddled with bullets.
Yin Qin pursed his lips, feeling melancholic.
He said, “You must hate me, don’t you? I always fail at crucial moments. I used to think I was useful, but now I realize that you’re right, I am weak, very weak…”
“Enough!” Luo Xiaolang raged, “Can you not speak right now! Yes, you are the weakest! Not only are you weak, but you also lack self-awareness! You are not only useless now, but you’ve also become a nuisance to us all.”
Yin Qin’s throat tightened.
Luo Xiaolang couldn’t afford to be distracted by Yin Qin now.
She vented a lot at Yin Qin in an attempt to get him to stop speaking.
She couldn’t afford to lose her focus.
Yin Qin stopped speaking.
He could feel that Luo Xiaolang’s breath was getting heavier and heavier.
Her steps grew heavier with him on her back, but she persevered, carrying him through the forest.
“Have we shaken them off yet?” Wei Ziming asked again.
“No, they are closing in.”
“Damn it!” Wei Ziming couldn’t help but swear.
He saw that Luo Xiaolang was obviously getting weaker, he said, “Hand him over to me.”
“Master.”
“Give him to me, you take a break.” Wei Ziming insisted.
Luo Xiaolang hesitated for a moment, then nodded, “Thank you, Master.”
Wei Ziming felt a little bad for the silly girl.
It was clear that she had broken up with Yin Qin, but she still hadn’t really let go of this man!
Even if she was trying to save him out of humanitarianism, she didn’t need to say “thank you” to another person.
It should be Yin Qin who said thank you, not her!
But she said it, which only meant that she really wanted to save him!
