Chapter 200: Successful Deal
Chapter 200: Successful Deal
Yao Ran nodded, "Yes. Xiao Yan came by to say that Yuan Rihui had the antiques ready. I'm going to check them out."
Long Yu thought for a moment and said, "Wait for me. I will go with you."
With that, he went inside without closing the door. Soon, he returned with his backpack and weapons and said, "Let's go."
The two of them went downstairs and saw Xiao Yan waiting outside. He was hopping in place to warm his body, rubbing his hands together and blowing warm breaths on his cold fingers.
When he saw Yao Ran and Long Yu, Xiao Yan smiled and said, "Miss Yao, Brother Yuan has prepared the antiques. Would you like to take a look now?"
Yao Ran nodded. "Yes."
"Then please come with me." Xiao Yan said, leading the way.
They followed Xiao Yan to an abandoned office building not far from the Ling Yuan apartment complex. From a distance, Yao Ran noticed Yuan Rihui talking with a man. Upon closer
inspection, she realized it was Ling Yi.
Seeing them approach, Ling Yi walked up to them with a bright smile on his face. He extended his hand to Yao Ran and said, "Miss Yao, we meet again."
Yao Ran shook his hand and replied, "I hope you're doing well, Boss Ling."
Ling Yi laughed and said, "Of course! With a big client like Miss Yao, how could I not be doing well?"
After greeting Yao Ran, he turned to Long Yu and extended his hand. "Brother Long, long time no see. How are you?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Long Yu shook his hand and said, "Still the same."
Ling Yi chuckled, gestured for them to follow him, and said, "I've prepared what Miss Yao wanted. Please, come this way."
As they entered the office building, Yao Ran saw more than ten large wooden boxes. She raised an eyebrow and glanced at Ling Yi, realizing he was more capable than she had initially thought.
"Open the boxes." Ling Yi instructed his men.
He then turned to Yao Ran and said, "Miss Yao, feel free to take a look and see if any of them interest you."
Yao Ran nodded and approached the nearest box. Upon seeing that most of the antiques were from famous dynasties, she was satisfied.
After inspecting all the antiques, Yao Ran smiled at Ling Yi and said, "Boss Ling must have run museums before. All your antiques are genuine and come from renowned dynasties." Ling Yi laughed and said, "Miss Yao flatters me. So, is there anything you like?"
"I will take them all. What would you like in exchange?" Yao Ran asked.
Ling Yi's eyes briefly flashed with interest before returning to normal. He chuckled and said, "Miss Yao, you may name your price."
Ling Yi wasn't sure what kind of supplies she had, so he let Yao Ran decide on the payment. From what his cousin had told him, Yao Ran and her friends seemed to have government insiders, allowing them to receive news ahead of the public.
This was evident when they bought large quantities of planting pots, soil, and fertilizer at low prices just before the government announced that potatoes could be replanted, causing demand for those items to skyrocket.
Now, a bag of soil could be exchanged for three antibiotic pills. Based on this exchange rate, Ling Yi knew how valuable planting goods had become.
While Ling Yi pondered how to maximize his profits, Yao Ran found herself in a dilemma.
She wasn't sure how valuable these antiques were to others, and she didn't want to overpay, fearing Ling Yi would take advantage of her for their next deal.
After some thought, Yao Ran said, "The last time I had a transaction with Brother Yuan, he asked about the small umbrellas. I still have some left. Would you be interested in exchanging these antiques for them, Boss Ling?"
Ling Yi remembered how, thanks to those 15 small umbrellas, he had established connections with a few influential families through their heirs. Since she still had some, he couldn't let this opportunity pass.
Ling Yi nodded and said, "Sure. How many are you willing to offer, Miss Yao?"
Last time, she had exchanged 15 small umbrellas for planting pots and other items, so she needed to give more this time.
After calculating, Yao Ran said, "I will give you two boxes of them."
Ling Yi's eyes lit up at the offer, knowing he could make a significant profit from these two boxes of small umbrellas.
However, instead of agreeing immediately, Ling Yi said, "Miss Yao, it wasn't easy for me to collect these antiques."
Knowing that he wanted more, Yao Ran sighed and said, "If Boss Ling feels my offer is too low, then perhaps we can't reach a deal today. Since this is the case, I have no choice but to go to other dealers to see if I can buy other antiques."
After saying that, Yao Ran took Long Yu's hand and turned to leave.
Seeing that she wasn't looking back, Ling Yi hurriedly said, "Miss Yao, you must be joking. Since you have shown your sincerity, I will certainly oblige."
Yao Ran paused, turned around, and then smiled without saying anything.
Noticing her silent agreement, Ling Yi ordered his men, "Pack up the boxes and send them to Miss Yao's house."
Yao Ran raised her hand and refused, "No need. I will transport them later."
She then took two small boxes of umbrellas from her backpack and handed them to Ling Yi.
Each box contained 100 pieces of small umbrellas, enough for Ling Yi to make huge profits and feed his men for two months.
Yao Ran said, "If you come across more antiques, Boss Ling, please contact me. As long as they're authentic, I will take them all."
Ling Yi laughed, pleased with another successful deal. He nodded, "Sure. Then we will take our leave. See you next time, Miss Yao, Brother Long."
After Ling Yi and the others left, Yao Ran didn't store the boxes right away in her space.
