Chapter 100 The Meeting

Chapter 100  The Meeting

It is known to many but after all the players have died an Era will disappear without any kind of trace, it's safe to say that all kinds of disappointment are safely discarded, killed where they stand even though they live in the time where all the players have perished. Every Era dies and it starts a new one, now comes the Era of Labyrinths dungeons that have complex paths, traps, and terrifying monsters. Instead of an epidemic or a curse that has befallen their bodies, the thing that killed them in this Era is their worldly desires, Greed, Lust, and Hunger if they want to quench this thirst they'll have to bet their lives and explore the Labyrinth. The Era of Alchemy had long passed away whilst it was replaced by the Era of the Labyrinth raiders

[Remind me why we're here in the first place?]

Morris was inside a room with Persevis along with the executives and high-ranking members along with their newest member They were gathered by their Leader after they safely arrived at the second Trial without any crisis occurring. Apart from the ones he knew from his encounter with Hyunsu and Persevis, he also had some close ties to one of their new member which he not so long ago tried to impale a Dagger within his throat

"It's been a long time since we have an important meeting with our Core members if you have any questions feel free to raise your~ what is it, Morris?" Persevis points his attention to his location

"Why am I here again? You said Core members im just a player at the senior rankings if I remember correctly," Morris pointed out his arrival which might've been a mistake

"Well, you wouldn't have known since you were comatose, along with the arrival of our new ally member that you've mistaken for your former enemy. Magical Beast expert Seigfried Dross can you enlighten your superior about his importance and achievements in this Cult," Siegfried stands up from his seat after he was ordered by Persevis to relay Morris's achievements written on a piece of paper that was given to him by Persevis

"Former senior ranking member Christoper Morris, placed in the elite group that's known for their great skill, after requesting for a batch of fresh recruits he given the Cult leader a hidden role. That leads to our great leader providing the member's access to the Shadow institution where they're given not only training but sustenance, while we do lose a bunch of our brothers and sisters. The payoff in the hidden role was enough to expand our influence and further increase our numbers, apart from that his allies spared a character named Siegfried Dross that later became a member of the Cult," Siegfried addresses all of his achievements and contributions n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

'Oh right the Ownership effect, because the members belonged to the Cult they were labeled as his possession, the Shadow Institution not only provides food but training as well. The Assasin group has a large Base on the underground that can house more than 10,000 people, I found out about the Bases layout when I made my way to Genis's training room where he beats the shit out of me. Free lodging and food must have helped them save some of their expenses, I can't believe these guys have 3000 people that are three times compared with the Major Guild's total number of members. In the story, he's always happy to have a lot of tools to control yet the numbers differ, he's supposed to have 1500 the numbers seem to have increased composing of readers and players,'

[You gave them a ton of herbs, Where the hell did you find all of those herbs?]

"I have some connections okay, well now that I've been informed of my promotion Cult leader Persevis. Please continue with our topic in today's meeting, I want to know what's going on since most of the players here are some members that have some classified missions they need to attend. It must have been something threatening if you call every one of us," Morris remained in his seat while his gaze was focused on Persevis, along with his curiosity about their current predicament. Where they are all greeted by Hyunsu's arrival and explained their situation

'Morris nim has successfully recovered from his injuries, I should find a way to thank him after he goes out of his way to make the Cult improve even further. But the report must be first and foremost I need a little more time to think of a way to show my appreciation,'

"Ahem, what you will hear in this room, would only be kept to your own or some people that you can trust, it all happened 18 days ago when the Cult made their way to the last floor. Where it contains the hidden boss that's only available to the Shadow institution role, along with the Elite, Core members accompanied by the allies of Core member Christopher Morris we were able to win. Unfortunately, this was the start of our crisis, when the Allies of our comatose member left we found the most valuable item, Mr. Kurenai had mentioned. The Gluttony core. With that item in the hands of the hidden boss, he became a demonic variant that can wield the power of the Sin to a certain extent," Morris interrupted Hyunsu when he was about to finish his report

"Where's the Gluttony core now?" Morris waited for his answer to his question Hyunsu pauses for a second before he told him

"Sad to say about this Morris nim even though your allies along with you have greatly contributed in this mission it was stolen,"

[Stolen?]

"Before our members could bring it to the Cult leader a commotion occurred in the sight, it was the appearance of the player wearing a Mask that has the shape of a fox. File name Kitsune we don't have any knowledge of his/her background, identity, even his/her reasons is a mystery. Kitsune didn't kill any of our members on that day, but she/he gave us a warning before she/he left, "This power isn't as simple as you may think of" with that Kitsune left, stealing the core without anyone strong enough to stop she/he," Along with the end of his report, Persevis place an artifact that recorded the fight against Kitsune

The player's body was covered in many layers of armor making its gender indistinguishable while bearing different types of weaponry. The player's playstyle was close to being identical to Morris's fighting prowess paired with an ability that makes Kitsune dash from one place to another making it easier to avoid any kind of projectile that was fired. It caught Morris's attention without any fail, stealing an item that would be disastrous if utilized by someone who has no prior knowledge of its effect. In the end, the masked player escapes without harming anyone to acquire the item before making its grand escape, using a portable teleportation scroll to leave the place unscathed

'Probably a player that has the Skill Copycat can either mimic Skills, Spells, or a fighting style this Skill has a ton of uses. Too bad it's pretty rare, which made me stick to the basics and learn every kind of weapon to use Weapon shift, If this is all about the core then I can give them the one I got. I also need a favor from Persevis since having all that players can make me cover a ton of ground, but im a little curious about Kitsune's identity. I only explained the Skills, Items, Weapons, and Armor thats powered by the Sin in chapter 567,'

"In addition to what Hyunsu has reported, we're going to find whoever that thief is~" All of them were surprised by what Morris was wielding after he took off the seal. Filled the whole room with an ominous Aura, and those who weren't resistant started to feel like their stomach was churning from the inside out. Hunger filled their body and the ones that were able to resist was slowly being influenced by the Sin, they too would fall like their subordinate which made him seal its power within the paper

Apart from Morris that gained resistance after he experimented with the core after he acquired it, was unaffected when not even Persevis could resist the Sin's influence

"Ugh, w-where did you get that? Not even the core we found could match the power and influence it has," Overwhelm by the core Persevis along with the rest fell from their seat as he makes his way up after he wasn't influenced by the power of the core

"Remember the strange occurrence of The World Of Trials? When it was just a normal day in the First Trial and suddenly in the 3rd stage it turned into hell and raises its rank,"

"What about the difficulty increase?"

"A player that will remain nameless was used by the Deity who was the main antagonist at that Trial. It's safe to assume that I killed that guy before he could damage the Trial even further, and I found this core at his corpse," He mixed a few lies within the truth that he had spoken of yet they didn't care about the player mentioned in the story. Their eyes were focused on the core that he wrapped in the seal that he acquired from Theodore

"Seeing as how your willing to show that in this meeting are you going to give that?" Persevis focused his gaze on Morris that remained quiet before he made his decision

"Of course not, I'm already a Core member what do you even have to offer that's comparable to this I don't even need your permission to request a few players. I only wanted to show you this if it have some use that I have no idea," Persevis's stare intensified that turned into a gale that was filled with his anger that was aimed toward his body

'I already know why you want this core. Even if I killed you in my book since you were too much of a hassle for Hugo's team. By the time you've gained power, you would place your men in every entrance to the Trials that were placed within your territory. But that time hasn't come you haven't turned into a Villain, since your sister is still alive, you would do anything for the two of you to be reunited. But you're an unlucky one by the time you've found the last material it got swept away from your hands, what are you going to do now, Persevis Nah let's get more familiar what is your choice, Felix?'
