Soul for a Girlfriend?

Chapter 299 - Capturing Memories

"Wow! There are so many things!" Kana's eyes sparkled at the sight before her. No matter where her eyes strolled, from jewellery shops to souvenir stalls, everything was available there.

She wrapped her arms around Reina and Saki who definitely couldn't keep up with her exhilaration. Dragging them along, she couldn't contain her excitement, "Look at all these shops… lees goo!"

They were walking through the festival grounds. It was certainly crowded with people. And being crowded meant that there were a lot of girls around. A perfect place for Tsūmen to admire the beauty of ladies.

Some were walking around with their significant others while others were alone. Irrespective of their relationship status, Tsūmen was a true man of equality. He treated each woman's beauty as if it's his own partner.

The aroma of freshly cooked food caught Gaisen's attention. Suddenly he wasn't freezing anymore. A wide smile formed on his face as he stared at Saishi and said, "You know the rules and so do I."

"What do you wanna eat first?" He asked, and Gaisen pointed towards a shop in front of them and smiled, "Let's try some fried shrimp!"

Gaisen and Saishi were busy trying out different varieties of food while the girls were busy browsing through things that they were not actually going to buy. Tsūmen's and Seryoku on the other hand were playing games.

Seryoku was oddly good at these games and that genuinely impressed Tsūmen. Albeit, he was quite a competitive person himself and Seryoku beating him at every event was annoying him.

Tsūmen's eye came across a shooting game. Being good at archery, he got excited about that and told Seryoku, "That shooting game! I wanna play that."

Seryoku nodded and they proceeded to start playing that game. Tsūmen was more motivated than ever since they could win varieties of prizes in this game. That is, if they can hit the target accurately.

Seryoku started playing and shot a few shots, missing each one. Unaware of the fact that the muzzle of the gun was slightly tilted in these types of games, he ended up missing all his shots. And to rub salt on the wound, Tsūmen was cackling.

"Your aim sucks bruh!" Tsūmen said, taking the gun from his hand and proceeded himself, "Now, watch a master at work."

Tsūmen ended up winning a few prizes since he was accustomed to these types of facade in these carnival games. And since he was good at archery, his sense of trajectory and aiming was better than an average person.

After a while of goofing around, they finally rejoined with the others. Kana could be seen holding a paper bag with souvenirs for home while Gaisen could be stuffing his mouth with come cane candy. Tsūmen and Seryoku on the other hand had more than a few prizes they won at those games.

They spend quite a few hours without even realizing. It was as they say, if one is enjoying themselves then they tend to lose track of time.

"Why do you have a camera in your hand?" Tsūmen asked Kizhashi who was holding a digital camera in her hands.

It appeared to be a middle generation digital camera. With black body and silver plating along a decent aperture. It seemed to still function on reels which was rather unusual to use at that time.

"Ah this…" She lifted the camera with a nervous smile. Tsūmen nodded as Saishi also said, "Yeah, I noticed it for some time too."

Kana also appeared to be interested as she joined in and commented, "Yeah, I mean we can just use our mobiles to take pictures."

It was indeed the generation who had a mobile at their disposal for completing any kind of task. And mobiles surely went through a lot of advancement. May it be solving mathematical problems or taking pictures, everything could be done on it.

"Yeah, I know that too." Kizhashi agreed with Kana. With a slight nod of head, she let out a sigh and said, "But… it's my dad."

"Your dad turned into a camera?" Seryoku asked, and everyone stared at him in silence. Tsūmen contorted his eyebrows and said in an annoyed tone, "Bruh! Someone throw him off a building, please."

"My bad… you can continue." Seryoku laughed nervously and Kizhashi continued after that awkward pause, "Anyways… It's his camera. But he doesn't use it so he told me to use it."

"But you also have no use of this." Reina said, and she nodded, "Exactly. He said it was rotting on the shelf, so better to click a few pictures and keep this alive."

"And I was going to the festival so he was like, take the camera and click pictures."

"So, did you?" Saishi asked her. But his question was rather vague for her to understand as she asked back, "What?"

"Clicked any pictures?" He specified in a nonchalant tone. She shook her head from left to right and said, "Not at all."

"Your dad seems to love this camera." Gaisen said, staring towards it. Kizhashi shrugged and smiled nervously while fiddling with the camera, "Yeah… for some reason."

"He sounds like a cool dude." Tsūmen said and advised, "Then why not click a picture of all of us?"

They all seemed to favour that idea. But there was a problem, and that was if one of them clicked the picture then they would get left out. So they waited a few moments trying to search for someone who could click a picture of them.

They finally found an old man, who was out with his granddaughter. He appeared to be quite calm and gentle. Kizhashi talked with him for a moment before exchanging smiles and handing the camera to him.

"Let's capture some memories!" Seryoku rejoiced, as everyone chuckled except for Saishi. His face remained as plain as it always was in that picture.

"This is going to be nostalgic in 5 year from now. When we'll look back at the picture." Gaisen said, followed by Tsūmen hyping him up, "Yeah, and honestly, I love this!"

Whatever picture they had to click, they decided to take it from that camera afterwards.. And that is how the camera ended up capturing the indelible moments of that night.
