The Dreamer's POV

Chapter 243 Power outage

"I have to cut it off."

I muttered, watching as my trusty rocks crashed about and battered the muck guardian demon. The monster ended up falling, and then thrashed around , as its limbs tore and then regrew, destruction and regeneration both happening at a fast pace.

Its arm fell off, and from the broken ends, vines sprouted and they grew to one another, intending on joining, on becoming one once again.

Stay tuned for updates on empire

I willed one of my advanced rocks to strike the fallen arm, and it did so gracefully, turning around and repeatedly striking in succession, until all that remained were battered little vines.

The other part still attached had begun regrowing, its forearm was almost complete, almost whole.

I took a deep breath and pulled out <Wyvern Blade>and <Draconic Dagger> , I was going to use a whole lot of energy for this, and probably sustain a lot of injuries, but it had to be done, I only hoped I got loot worth having, worth the energy I was going to expend.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

With a mental command, the rocks at my disposal suddenly flared up with lightning and fire, I combined the two similar elements together and created burning electrifying rocks. I was intent on seeing its total annihilation.

The two blades had flame attributes to them, that, and that I could channel whatever element through them.

'What if I combine the darkness element and the flame element?' I thought, and then hesitated. What if the weapons weren't sturdy enough to withstand such power? It would be a shame and a waste, but I sunk the feeling, yes, it would be a shame, but that would only confirm my thoughts that the weapons weren't powerful enough and that I should get better and stronger ones, ones deserving of me.

They should at the very least be able to hold some percentage of my power, at least to this extent. I wouldn't hesitate.

"Flames. Darkness." I called out, Fire burst from the blades, coating them. I used their attribute, and channelled mine for a powerful and more destructive effect.

And the darkness came, a cloud that stole colors oozed from my hands and swirled around the blades, almost snuffing the flames out, but I gained control and increased the output of flames, and suddenly, the two distinct attributes merged together and became one.

[Congratulations, you've unlocked Dark Flames.]

[Additional Information]

<Dark Flames are the tools of ultimate destruction, they are said to be able to burn through anything and everything, and that the world was once close to getting burned to ashes until Iysa intervened. The Dark Flames are a product of the Monarch of Darkness intellect.>

'Iysa, I've heard that name once.'

The thought was stolen by the dark Flames that sprouted from my hands, they were hot, and yet, and to my surprise, my blades held and contained the power.

I glared up at the Muck guardian that suffered an electrifying assault from my rocks, and then smirked.

It looked down and saw the confident grin on my face, and I guessed that scared it, because it cried once more, and this wasn't the magnetic howl move.

Suddenly, green tendrils came at me. They snaked towards me with fervour, and there were so many of them.

'Useless struggle.' I called <Haven> over me. The vines struck and hit me, but there was nothing, they were much too weak to inflict damage upon me, much too weak.

It seemed they understood their futile efforts, for they instead began coiling around me. Thousands of vines layered upon each other trying to crush the foe: me.

Not even a ripple went across <Haven>, much less a crack.

I sighed, and then, a powerful wave of electricity swept across the vines, jerking them off me.

The surrounding smelt like a burnt bush, and it wasn't far off, as most of the vines had blackened from the huge electrical energy that went through them.

Two large veins crept forward, and then they rose like snakes and then dove down at me.

I returned the gesture, and jumped at them, daggers in hand. I stabbed them both, and ran my dark Flames through them.

The destructive energy erupted like a wave from my blades and doused the massive vines completely, and they crumbled to nothing instantly.

I saw a network of vines connected with the foot of the demon guardian and I did it the favor of cutting them off as I spun around and sent two slashes of dark flames, cutting off the vines, and then setting the creature's feet aflame.

The muck guardian demon however was smart, it ditched its feet with a screech, and it witnessed a part of it get burned so fast.

I could have sworn that I could see fear in its eyes. Its legs hadn't begun regenerating new feet as it had utilized quite a lot of its life energy, and the network of vines had been cut off, but I could see the vines making their way to it, intending to reconnect to their master, and that wasn't going to happen on my watch.

I thrust forward one of my blades, sending a wave of dark flames on the muck guardian. The flames quickly spread across it, and the vines stopped their approach–it was as if life was stolen from them as they returned to their previous immobile state.

The muck guardian thrashed about, I had <Absolute Appraisal>, and could see that it was trying to regenerate as its life energy fell drastically, but unfortunately, the rate at which the dark flames burned greatly superceded the rate of its regeneration, and it began to shrink.

My Advanced Grand Rocks were dormant, but to speed things up I had them continue to strike the burning muck guardian demon. They were doused in the dark flames, but nothing had happened to the rocks. And with the two destructive devices at play, the Muck Guardian soon became no more.
