Chapter 18 Entering the Qin Family
The familiar fragrance stirred Qiu Tu's heart. He looked down to see Qin Shuman's swan-like neck and full curves.
The cheongsam highlighted her already graceful figure, reminding him of her tenderness and charm in his arms.
Unaware that Qiu Tu was momentarily distracted by her allure, Qin Shuman grabbed his sleeve, her eyes filled with tension and worry. She whispered, "What's the situation now?"
"I was so scared last night that I couldn't sleep. Every time I dozed off, I'd wake up in fear, dreaming of Yan Chen trying to kill us." Her eyes reddened as she spoke, her voice choked with sobs, "I'm so scared."
Qiu Tu looked at her carefully, trying to discern any signs of deceit but found none. Yet, his intuition told him Qin Shuman was hiding something—a sense of encountering a kindred spirit.
Despite his suspicions, his Crisis Sense hadn't triggered, indicating Qin Shuman posed no immediate threat. This made him willing to continue cooperating with her.
Thinking this, Qiu Tu gently comforted her, "Don't worry, everything has been resolved."
He led her to the window, where the sunlight quietly bathed them. Qiu Tu softly recounted the recent events, omitting details about the clone and the Aurora Stone.
He claimed he had found flaws in Yan Chen's words and convinced him with a few statements, significantly reducing the story's credibility.Qin Shuman listened skeptically, "Is it really that simple?"
Qiu Tu nodded, "Yes, that simple."
"Next, you just need to follow the plan and communicate with Yan Chen to leave here."
After hesitating briefly, Qin Shuman nodded. She released Qiu Tu's hand, bit her lip, and gracefully walked towards the bed. Her slender figure and long legs made the pink cheongsam sway with each step, her fair skin peeking through like a fleeting glimpse, enhancing her enchanting presence.
'This woman is trying to seduce me,' Qiu Tu thought, focusing his gaze on Qin Shuman.
He watched as she reached the bed, bent over, and picked up the phone, her hips raised provocatively. She dialed a few numbers and waited.
When the call connected, she said softly, "Hello, Secretary Bai, this is Qin Shuman. I need to speak with Director Yan."
After a short wait, Yan Chen's voice came through.
Qin Shuman calmly repeated the request Qiu Tu had taught her, expressing her desire to return to the Qin family, which Yan Chen, as agreed, acknowledged with a cold "okay."
Hanging up, Qin Shuman, looking relieved, patted her chest and beamed at Qiu Tu, "It worked! He agreed and will make the arrangements."
Just as Qiu Tu was about to nod, his old communicator buzzed. He saw "Secretary Bai" displayed on the screen.
Secretary Bai, Yan Chen's personal secretary, was responsible for arranging Yan Chen's official activities, handling important visitors, and coordinating various departments within the Investigation Department.
Despite the title, he held a high position, also serving as the head of the Administrative Office, making him Qiu Tu's direct superior.
Secretary Bai's appreciation and recommendation had helped Qiu Tu gain favor with Yan Chen.
Worried that his situation with Qin Shuman might affect Secretary Bai's opinion, Qiu Tu wondered if this would impact his standing with Yan Chen.
While thinking about it, Qiu Tu picked up the call.
To his surprise, Secretary Bai's attitude remained unchanged, still amiable with a hint of appreciation.
He briefly congratulated Qiu Tu on his promotion and transfer before conveying Yan Chen's orders.
As discussed, Qiu Tu was to act as Qin Shuman's personal bodyguard, fully responsible for her security during her visit to the Qin family.
However, what Qiu Tu didn't expect was Yan Chen's specific instructions on the escort team: Fang Ming's Special Operations Division Seventh Squad would handle Qin Shuman's security, and her maid Cuilan, the informer, would accompany her to manage daily life.
It seemed Yan Chen intended to send all involved parties to the Qin family, aiming to resolve everything there.
Realizing this, Qiu Tu lost interest in further comforting Qin Shuman. After hanging up, he patted her hand gently and left her room to convey the orders and make arrangements.
As he stepped out, he noticed Cuilan hiding guiltily outside the door. One look at the door's marks confirmed she had been eavesdropping for a while. Qiu Tu gave her a deep look but chose not to expose her, striding away.

Time flew by as he busied himself. That evening, the Qin family hosted a grand banquet for Qiu Tu and his entourage.
The banquet included the current head of the Qin family, Qin Heng, and representatives from the second, third, fourth, and fifth branches.
The old patriarch had laid the foundation for the family before the cataclysm, passing away three years ago.
Now, Qin Heng led the family, though his influence was weaker than the old patriarch's, evident from the banquet where various family branches eagerly tried to curry favor with Qiu Tu.
Qiu Tu noted Qin Heng's poor health and constant coughing, along with his sole daughter, creating unrest among the family branches. These observations were consistent with Eagle's collected data, but experiencing it firsthand added valuable insights.
After the banquet, Qiu Tu politely declined the third branch's enthusiastic invitation and returned to the guest quarters with his team, intending to meet the teenage pharmacist.
Entering the room where she was held, he found the Special Operations Division agent standing guard, who relaxed upon seeing Qiu Tu and saluted, "Sir!"
Qiu Tu nodded and instructed, "You may leave. I will interrogate her alone tonight."
