Chapter 1028  Worries Of The Heart [Part 1]

When Ethan opened his eyes, the first sight that entered his eyes was an ice-cold beauty looking at him with indifference.

The two stared at each other for nearly half a minute before Baradiel arched an eyebrow.

“Well? Are you satisfied with your check-up?” Baradiel’s questioning tone was cold, and yet, it had a tinge of teasing.

“Very satisfied,” Ethan replied before he could even properly organize his thoughts.

He was still a bit muddleheaded after his consciousness returned to his body, and it would probably take a while for him to gain full control of his senses.

However, he suddenly felt something soft and cold on his right hand, which made him look in that direction.

A moment later, Ethan’s body stiffened.

For some reason, the blanket originally covering Nicole’s upper half had shifted, revealing her chest.

And at the moment, Ethan’s right hand was holding to Nicole’s left breast, which was where the soft feeling was coming from.

Perhaps due to the fact that he was still a bit muddleheaded, he gave it a light squeeze to test how soft it was.

At that instant, a gasp reached his ears, which made his muddy thoughts clear up as if it was an ice cube that was tossed in a smoking frying pan.

“Um… this,” Ethan tried to make an excuse for his rash behavior.

If it were Nicole’s consciousness active when he had done such a thing, Nicole might have forgiven him.

However, Baradiel was a Progenitor, and after his experience with the Progenitor of Magic, Lady Hecate, he knew that they didn’t have the best tempers in the world.

Some of them were quick to hold grudges over petty things, which resulted in Lily getting pregnant despite their careful family planning.

“Still not letting go?” Baradiel asked. This time the coldness in her voice was rather sharp. “Do you plan to give me a check-up too?”

Ethan hastily removed his hand from that soft place and coughed lightly. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

“I’m sorry.” Ethan apologized. “I didn’t know what got over me.”

Baradiel gazed at him cooly before standing up from the bed. She then waved her hand, and the clothes that she discarded, lying on the floor, flew in her direction.

The moment the clothes touched her body, a faint glow appeared, and right before Ethan’s eyes, the beautiful naked young lady was covered by her clothes.

Knowing that the check-up was done, Baradiel headed to the door to leave. But just as she was about to touch the doorknob, Ethan’s words reached her ears.

“Did you see what happened between me and Nicole?” Ethan asked as he, too, got up from the bed.

Baradiel turned around, and answered with a question of her own.

“What do you think?” Baradiel asked.

“I think you know what happened,” Ethan answered.

A faint smile appeared on Baradiel’s lips before opening the door to leave.

That smile was enough to confirm that she had seen everything that happened inside the deepest part of Nicole’s Sea of Consciousness, making Ethan shake his head helplessly.

‘Ethan, my boy, you have nerves of steel,’ Sebastian commented after making sure that the Progenitor was really gone.

‘Not many can grope a Progenitor’s chest and get away with it,’ Ethan’s Other Half praised the young man.

“That was technically Nicole’s body, not hers,” Ethan stated.

Sebastian and Ethan’s Other Half exchanged knowing glances with each other before they gave Ethan cheeky grins.

‘Sure.’

‘If you say so.’

Ethan ignored the two of them and decided to return to the Common Room where everyone was gathered.

But just as soon as he opened the door, he saw Luna walking toward his room. When she saw Ethan, a smile appeared on her face, and she hurried her steps crossing the distance between them.

Ethan smiled and invited the young lady to his room. Since she had come to see him, she must have something to tell him.

Once they were safely inside, Luna held Ethan’s hand and pulled him to the couch. She then made him sit, and after that, she sat on his lap and kissed his cheek.

However, a frown appeared on her face, which made the young man look at her in surprise.

“What’s wrong?” Ethan asked.

“Your clothes and body are a bit cold,” Luna replied. “It’s like you just took a stroll in the middle of winter.”

Ethan blinked once then twice before understanding the reason why his body was cold. He had just hugged Nicole’s body a while ago, whose entire body was as cold as ice.

Some of that coldness might have permeated his body, making it cold for the time being.

“Is it because of Baradiel?” Luna asked.

Just like Ethan’s other lovers, they were already aware that a Progenitor was currently possessing Nicole’s body.

“Yes,” Ethan answered. “I checked Nicole’s condition earlier.”

Luna nodded in understanding before resting her head on Ethan’s shoulder, snuggling close to him.

Ethan’s cold body was actually a good thing for her. It was rather hot today, and she would love to cool off by his side.

The young man wrapped his arms on his lover’s delicate waste before kissing her forehead.

It had been a while since Luna had become proactive like this because usually, it was always Ethan who initiated their intimate moments.

“Is there something on your mind?” Ethan asked.

Luna was very close to him and was one of the young ladies whom he planned to confess to when he was still a First Year.

This was why, when she became his lover, he was truly happy to have her by his side.

“I’m just feeling insecure and worried as of late,” Luna replied, telling the young man her worries.

“Why?” Ethan asked.

“It’s because, among my sisters, I’m the most useless,” Luna answered in a bitter tone. “I can’t help you unless it’s the night of the full moon. I feel so useless.

“I even wanted to come with you during the War against the Fomorians. But since I didn't have any powers at that time, I decided to stay.”

Luna’s carbuncle, Selene, looked at her Master with a sad look on her face as she laid down on the carpet.

There were times when Luna would tell her the worries in her heart, and even though Selene would tell her that Ethan wouldn’t abandon her because of it, the young lady’s worries only grew as more and more beautiful and powerful women appeared in Ethan’s life.
